Re: Universal Putting Films on VOD It will be very depressing if the theatrical window is killed as a result, but I imagine there will be a lot of people eager to get out of the house at first opportunity.

Re: Universal Putting Films on VOD The movie theater business will rebound. People like going to the movies and it’s a great activity for dates, end of shopping trips, weekend boredom.

If it's just domestic $20m+ on first day is pretty great. That said these rentals won't be like regular box office so who knows if it'll do $100m+ just based off these rentals. If it does (and apparently studios get $80% of digital $) this could be a game changer.

Re: Universal Putting Films on VOD I think Universal said they need 12 million rentals to break even on it. They say that it'll be hard to judge as family films will need a lot more rentals to compensate for larger groups that rent them vs. adult themed films.
