Let me know if you want any local tips. Thanks, I am considering a couple places in Virginia. And I would always appreciate any tips. Cool. I live in Arlington (and grew up in Alexandria), and love both of them. If you're looking for slightly more affordable housing, Reston/Chantilly and Woodbridge/Manassas would be more affordable, but they're a lot further away from DC.

You might want to rent for a year and see how the Trump presdicency shakes out. In addition, you want to get to learn the different areas, and neighborhoods. In terms of affordable living arrangements, Maryland might be your best bet. I have always liked VA. Living in DC can be a good opportunity, in terms of price some times, if you are willing to take more chances. Good luck.

Re: Election Day 2016
Kate McKinnon moved me to tears. It is finally processing.
This is not what was supposed to happen. The Democrats were supposed to give us our first African American President and Female President back to back. They were supposed to be a dynasty. They would prove once and for all that the era of oppression was over.
Ugh

Ugh That's the funniest McKinnon has ever been. I was ROFL for minutes.

Yes, the progress we made by illegitimately creating constitutional rights out of thin air rather than electing politicians to pass laws

And the judges subsequently abused their power by declaring rights to sodomy, birth control, abortion and same sex marriage that are obviously nowhere in the constitution. If people wanted to enshrine these things as rights, it should be done through the legislature, not through the courts

If Jefferson was committed to equality as he claimed, he would have tried to end slavery right then and there. He didn’t free his slaves, even at death, and was much more cynical, calculating, and less “inspiring”, shall we say, in private than public. No truly rational being, or advanced intelligence, consciousness, civilization, or species would consider your law or constitution to have any serious relevance or respectability.
