Jimmy Howard has gone 21 straight games without losing in regulation.

Red Wings have 37 pts. League leaders have 38.
Red Wings have played 4 LESS games.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
I choose to root for the Vancouver Canucks, who have 0 titles, much like most of my favorite teams in other sports.
Step 2 will be to actually watch a game, which might be tough. I get one game every couple days on Versus.

Red Wings suck. Thought Lidstrom did record his first career hat trick. Amazing that he's never had one before.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
That was fun last night. I'm not a big fan of senseless fighting in hockey, but each of those three fights in the first four seconds meant something, and as cliched as it sounds, those fights and the win last night will just bring the team closer together; something they'll need if they want to get to the Eastern Conference Finals, which I think is the benchmark on whether or not Claude Julien will be back with the Bruins next year.
Another exciting thing about last night's game was the crisp passing that went on for large portions of the game. The Bruins offense absolutely picked apart the Stars defense. Hopefully that's something that can continue.
I'm also going to the game on the 9th against the Canadiens. Can't wait for that. Unless I was much younger and don't remember, it'll be my first Bruins/Canadiens game. Based on what happened in January I expect a great game and I'll mostly likely be beaten up by a French-Canadian. I'm not a big fan of the team or their fanbase, but to give them credit where credit is due, their fans sure know how to fill up an opponents arena. Should be fun.

Off to see the B's. It'd be nice if their first win against the Canadiens came tonight. And look for me. I'll be the one wearing the Bruins jersey in the lower level.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
Yeah, the game was a blast. It was easily the best Bruins game I've been to. And it also helped that I was on the Bruins end of the ice (defense 1st & 3rd, offense 2nd period), on a corner, eight rows up from the glass. Six goals were scored on that end (four by the Bruins) and all the fights happened on that end of the ice. This was my view. Glad I didn't end up going tonight.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
Yeah. Even including the Canadiens game I think it's clear they have to make a trade. They've given up 20 goals in the last four games and their penalty kill has been shit during that time.
They need a defenseman who can move the puck and a center.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
6-0 road trip. Hasn't been done by any other Bruins team since 1972. Thomas and Rask have been sick as of late, Kaberle hasn't brought this much of an impact to any Bruins team since Joe Thornton, and Kelly and Peverely have been good so far (a breath of fresh air after Wheeler). I also like them getting back Shane Hindy. The more defense the better and it's especially nice now that it looks like Ference is going to be out for a couple of weeks.
Now it'd be nice if this continued at home and into the playoffs.

Come on Chippy, you can come up with more eloquent retorts than that. Especially since my team is last in the conference.

Re: NHL 2010-2011 Season
Even though I don't think Chara was trying to check Pacioretty's head or hit him so that his head would go right into that padded divider, I think the Bruins are very lucky that Chara didn't even get a one a game suspension
