I think excel has gone crazy because of his non-stop defending of SR resulting to a very disappointing gross.

I like the fanboys getting their hopes up again, then having them shot down in less then 24hrs, this is like what? The 5th time already.

Even someone who's trashed can realize that it won't make $250 million total.

From where I'm sitting it is.. Christ this movie will be lucky to even get close to 200 Million.. Meanwhile back at the Ranch known as The WB, The Execs there are probably on Suicide Watch and Singer's gone into hiding and is gorging himself to death on BEN and JERRY'S Ice Cream out of depression while watching a WILL and GRACE Marathon to forget about this....

Has anyone looked over at what Wikipedia has to say concerning the budget. I'm having trouble understanding it, so could someone help me out. I'll quote it here.
Wikipedia wrote: This film has been rumored to be one of the most expensive ever, with an alleged budget of $250,000,000. However, director Bryan Singer initially debunked this figure, claiming it was "a little lower than $200,000,000". He had supposedly admitted that the former amount was closer if not slightly less than the full amount spent, according to an erroneous statement made by Rotten Tomatoes. There is controversy over Singer's supposed admission, though, which took place during an episode of Sunday Morning Shootout. Co-host Peter Guber stated a figure that was referring to the total cost of bringing Superman back to the big screen from Burton to Singer rather than a budget overrun on the current production. Singer's statement that it was "more than that" was a reference to the same scenario. According to various articles on the character's journey back to the silver screen, the total amount spent before Singer came onboard was close to $150 million, as some of those involved had "pay or play" contracts  meaning that they get paid if production isn't started by a certain date. That figure, alongside Singer's $185 million, gives a total cost of $335 million. Also, since Brett Ratner had left production because his budget was too large (reportedly $234 million), it is unlikely that Warner Bros. would have allowed such a high expenditure for a single motion picture after denying a previous one, even with the financial backing of Legendary Pictures.
According to The Numbers.com, Bryan Singer was quoted as saying the budget for Superman Returns was $250 million in late 2004.[3] He has since denied that figure.[4] Pamela McClintock writes in Variety, Warner Bros. has unofficially put the budget at $184 million, "factoring in tax breaks offered in Australia."[1] She further points out that without the Australian tax break of 12%, the budget would be "easily north of $200 million".
Is there a way to determine what the actual budget is? The $150 million before Singer came on board is just wasted money on WB's part. They aren't actually going to take that into account with this film, seeing as there was no way in hell they expected this to make $500 million domestically.
So does this mean the actual budget of the film is $185 or am I missing something here? I thought they spent close to $100 on marketing alone. Wouldn't that basically mean they spent $285 million plus the $150 for before just for this one film and not $260 thus equaling $435 million total. Or is the number much lower than what BOM is saying?

the budget was 184. they gave him more and it went 204.
with aditional costs it saround 260 million. they made in austrailia for 204 million, which is 260 american dollars. but cause it was made in austrailia it was cheaper.

SR got a B+ from CinemaScore, which is pretty mediocre. Doesnt bode that well for it's wom. To compare, even Tokyo Drift got an A-.

Too bad it isnt the opposite, you want an A- with over 25 not a B, because thats the audience that will make your money in the coming weeks.
