Who had the best decade?

I’m really high on The Walking Dead and Halt and Catch Fire, so when you add in the latter halves of Breaking Bad and Mad Men, I gonna say AMC here. Although NBC was surprisingly good with comedies like Community, The Good Place, late The Office, etc. and a strong drama in This Is Us. HBO and FX were solid and versatile.

As far as average quality of a show, HBO always wins. But Netflix took over the world and got people to quit cable. And they also had a lot of good shows. So they get my vote.

It's clearly Netflix. They literally became their own network and are now synonymous with "staying at home and watching a movie".

The question was who had the best stuff rather than who was the most successful (Although I would say it isn’t a no brainer in Netflix’s favour for that, the biggest hits were probably GOT, TWD and BBT)

Stranger Things is imo the second biggest show second only to GOT. And after shit kinda crashed and burned, Stranger Things took over as THE show of the last year

The question was who has the best decade and that is definitely Netflix. Also in terms of popularity there were MANY shows over Netflix that were great (though I guess that doesn't apply to Shack).

That's fair, I would put Stranger Things with GOT, TWD and BBT as the biggest hits of the decade. GOT is the biggest though.

Thrones final season was weak but it dominated the conversation in a way very few things in pop culture (not just tv) ever have.

Fake news. Maybe in ratings? Yes. But the full cultural phenomenon that was GoT at its peak is something he hadn't seen since Friends.

I don't know if comparing TWD ratings to GOT is a perfect comp anyways cause HBO is subscription, so they air GOT multiple times rather than get the ad dollars for one airing. It felt like GOT was more popular overall.

GoT was a global phenom. Easily the biggest event TV series of the decade.

The Walking Dead was big early in the decade but the US ratings were more akin to an NCIS which rates but has very little cultural impact.

Yes I too believe its the global effect of GoT that was WAY higher than TWD which was more a US thing than global.
