enjoying Secret Invasion so far :D love the tone/action & the whole Winter Soldier feel.
All the actors are killing it :notworthy: especially Sam & Ben!!!

Show is pretty boring so far. Don’t really care about any characters besides Fury and Talos.

Post Re: Disney+ - Secret Invasion
I finished it and it was ok but not really worth the time. Some of the dialogue in this episode made me think back to Anakin's in SW Ep. 2 which wasn't a good comparison. :funny:

Also, I read this show cost $212M for 6 episodes! ($35M each)

Others like She-Hulk were $25M each (per episode).

These shows feel like they could have been a $80M movie from a production value perspective. I'd rather Jackson just got a movie if they were willing to spend $212M!? It's also barely made much of a wave in pop culture too.

Episode 6 apparently is also 13% on RT so would be the lowest scoring MCU TV show episode ever. Seems like they could do better than 13% from a $212M budget. :noway:

The cold reception for this seems like it fits into overall superhero fatigue

This show is terrible and was Dark Phoenix levels of botching a beloved comics storyline.

Seems like everyone and their mother hated this. Hopefully it will be the beginning of the end for MCU shows and then the movies will feel special again.

It’s amazing how, other than Loki being better than Falcon/WS, every Marvel show has been as bad or worse than the last.

MCU is saturated now. Marvels will feel the effect for sure. Gunn managed pull out a rabbit out of his hat for Guardians but I dont see Marvels or upcoming MCU movies doing that. There is Deadpool 3 but they are going over the top getting all the flop stars from Fox Marvel movies. Plus the Multiverse concept is played out. Going that route is going to be very risky proposition.

Post Re: Disney+ - Secret Invasion
I thought D+ had a thing going where they did homages to old TV genres (Mando=western, She Hulk=lawyer, Wandaivision's mix, etc.), on paper Secret Invasion fits in perfectly as a spy homage, but I don't think they went all in enough on the concept of making it a Marvel Slow Horses/Night Agent type show, and Fury was the wrong lead character, you can't be a spy when you're as famous as Fury is in this universe. If Emilia Clarke was the main character employed as a double agent and Fury was the one on the phone with her telling her what to do I think the concept makes more sense, but building a show around a new character probably didn't make the business sense to them as doing a Fury show with SLJ all over the marketing. This is adjustment Marvel has to make in terms of bold moves that get less initial anticipation but make more sense quality wise and spread word of mouth, Andor felt under the radar when it came out cause nobody remembered that character but people ended up liking it and season 2 will probably be a huge hit for them now.

Loki season 2 still being months away is the biggest failure of Disney+ thus far. We should be on season 3 by now with season 3 of Wandavision and season 3 of Hawkeye close behind. Going with a million different six episode miniseries was beyond arrogant.

Also went with Star Wars shows even though I didn't really love Andor or Boba Fett and Obi Wan was just terrible. But at least they gave us a real show with Mando.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Ahsoka and they were not good. The acting was not very good by anyone and the pacing was very slow. Im getting Obi Wan vibes and thats not good.

Wasn’t terrible but can’t say I’m excited for Episode 3, there just wasn’t much of a hook

For some reason when Disney releases a movie directed at kids it still seems cool, but shows like this feel like too young and lame to be meant for me.

Halfway through first Ahsoka. This show should have been 30 minutes per episode with a very fast pace like Rebels. The casting choices look good so far though.

The second and third episodes were better with their shorter lengths. Though the show is still far too slow and the two dark jedi / inquisitors are trying So Hard to be iconic Star Wars characters. They are both giving me real edgelord Reva vibes.

The show was finally starting to get good and then they were like "hey let's not have Hera and Chopper go with Ahsoka and Sabin to rescue Ezra."

The first episode was awful, but each one got a little better and the finale ended up being great. I am satisfied and look forward to Rebels Ahsoka season 6 2.
