Post Christopher Knight to host "Trivial Pursuit"
TV Week

Quote:
Child actor-turned-reality star Christopher Knight will host the game show based on Hasbro’s “Trivial Pursuit” board game.

Mr. Knight, who parlayed his role as Peter on “The Brady Bunch” into VH1 reality series “My Fair Brady,” will begin production on “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays” this week for national syndication by Debmar-Mercury.

The half-hour show, set to debut Sept. 22, will offer contestants cash prizes for correctly answering a variety of trivia questions, some of which will be submitted by viewers via a Web site.

The “Trivial Pursuit” pilot was hosted by “Temptation Island’s” Mark Wahlberg.

“This is a game that has been a hit in 17 countries and in 26 languages, so the opportunity to bring the brand to television with Chris in the driver’s seat is really a thrill,” said Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein in a statement Tuesday. “With Chris at the helm, we are sure that this show will find a very passionate audience.”

Temptation Island's Mark Wahlberg? What about The Moment of Truth's Mark Wahlberg for a more up-to-date reference.

Wink Martindale to Christopher Knight? Yeah, that seems about right.

I just played Trivial Pursuit for the first time ever, and damn it's a great game. Very enjoyable. I always heard that it was the ultimate trivia test (as in, it's very hard) but I actually found it reasonable. There are some tricky questions but nothing that you can't guess at if you really have no clue. Anyway, I absolutely loved playing. The most fun I've had this week.

I’ve always won at trivia pursuit. I’m good at games in general, I don’t think TP is that exciting for a full series, it works better in 5 minted version on late night. I don’t think any of Fallon’s spin-offs have have been that successful in the longer medium
