Re: What are you watching right now?
I just started FUBAR. It's not bad. Very much what you'd expect an Arnold series to be like. It's kind of what a True Lies series might be like if not made by James Cameron. It's fun, though. Not all of the jokes are good but I've found myself laughing a few times. It's perhaps a bit cheap feeling at times. I'm only three episodes in (out of 8). The thing it lacks is good cameos. Apart from Arnold there's nobody else that's a face, though I did recognise Allota Fagina from Austin Powers as Arnold's character's ex-wife.

I would like to see FUBAR, it looks fun enough.
I'm watching S16 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia right now, they're still good, DeVito was great in the last chess episode.

Re: What are you watching right now?
Already wasn't in love with the Bear but season 2 is worse in that by setting it around them renovating the restaurant it lost the best part of the show, the turned to 11 intensity of the kitchen scenes when they fall behind and yell at each other. The best episode of season 1 was the one where Sid stabbed Ritchie and she called Carmy a piece of shit. I don't care about stuff like the dessert guy going to Copenhagen. I will watch long enough to go to ultra stacked guest star episode with Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, John Mulaney, Gillian Jacobs and Jon Bernthal though.

I'm enjoying Mrs. Maisel so far, the supporting cast (Alex Borstein, Tony Shahloub, etc.) is excellent and I hope they give Brosnahan a classy type look like this as Lois Lane cause she's a huge babe with this style.

Halfway through Beef. Highly compelling television.

Last episode of Sunny S16 was great, classic Dennis, glad they're keeping this going, they have a few more seasons in them I think.

South Park Panderverse special was an A+. One of their best ever.

The Curse is solid with some great cringe comedy moments, Emma Stone is killing it.

Reacher - Not sure I'll keep watching but combining Sherlock Holmes with Arnold's character from Commando was kind of a fun idea

Re: What are you watching right now?
The Buccaneers - this show knows the formula of 1800s teen girl show, give her two mega handsome lords or Dukes to fend off marriage proposals from, a semi-heel golden child sister, pop soundtrack, etc. Still kind of has a natural vibe I like and juicy drama though.

Re: What are you watching right now?
I just finished watching "One Day." I'd seen the film many years ago so knew how this was going to end but this miniseries absolutely destroyed me. Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall are just absolutely spellbinding to watch and have electric chemistry - and the series executes an old fashioned weepie vibe a lot more successfully than the movie did. I cried my way through the last 3 episodes.
Hope this launches Ambika and Leo into many future successful projects.

I started watching this Ted series, and it's pretty good, the concept lends itself well to the TV format.

Re: What are you watching right now?
My ashamed guilty pleasure of 2023, Lopez vs. Lopez, is back for a second season. And you bet your ass I watched both episodes on Tuesday, cringing the whole time and still feeling compelled to watch.
There's something so weirdly comforting about a sitcom that's so obnoxiously bad. Maybe it takes me back to the old kid show sitcoms.

Re: What are you watching right now?
For some reason I've now watched 5 episodes of a CBS procedural (Tracker). I can still see all the usual flaws of case of the week show like underdeveloped witness characters, but I guess I just like Justin Hartley showing up in his RV to some small town and using some survivalist skills, doing math like Scott Steiner and beating up bad guys.

South Park Ozempic special was mid for them but the car chase with the MILFs and cereal characters was epic

Re: What are you watching right now?
I dunno why, but I'm having a really hard time getting into new shows - especially dramas. I thought maybe it was just Fallout being meh at first, but then had the same reaction to 3 Body Problem and Shogun (this one especially should be right up my alley.) Mostly have just been watching Thrones and South Park lately because of it.
Hopefully the return of House of the Dragon and The Boys cures me of this affliction.

Re: What are you watching right now?
Shogun - The English trader guy being in the middle of this and so important to the Japanese characters plans feels forced to me. I think I'd have liked it more if it was just pure Japanese warlord power plays.
Edit - I see that's taken from the book which I haven't read. I can picture book being totally from the POV of this white guy in Japan hooking up with the beautiful asian lady etc., and they had to make a more 2024 version where the real stars are the Japanese characters, but they have to still adapt the book so he's still stuffed in there.

I gotta say I really didn’t love bear season 3. Pacing felt off almost whole time. But I feel bored by the lack of anything happening

Re: What are you watching right now?
The Tina and Natalie centric episodes are two of the best of the series but it felt like they could've done more with the three main characters after the eight episodes I've seen.

Re: What are you watching right now?
Presumed Innocent - Jake G is the right casting as sex freak/family man combo who keeps lying. I'm picturing Sarsgaard getting his Marvel and Bond villain on after this, his look is now perfect. Pretty well edited/directed I think.
