Re: The X-Files (Season 11)
Another solid episode last night. I keep forgetting Haley Joel Osment is a pretty damn good actor, and boy did he show those dramatic chops in that episode even though that twist was so obvious. The show is really keeping that momentum up quite well, and it's too bad we got to wait so long for the next one, because judging from that preview it looks very promising.

Re: The X-Files (Season 11)
The ratings bleed has thankfully stopped but I'm afraid it's too little to look into a Season 12. It doesn't help that 9-1-1 is a fairly big hit in only its first season.

Re: The X-Files (Season 11)
Anyone finish out the season? I held on to the last five episodes and will binge them soon. It's so unfortunate they couldn't have left that first episode off the schedule, because that killed any kind of momentum the show may have had. Two people I know that were avid fans of the show and even enjoyed Season 10 more than me were turned off by the premiere.

Re: The X-Files (Season 11)
Yeah I finished it and while the finale was somewhat underwhelming I honestly really enjoyed this season overall, especially the back half. I thought they effectively captured the tone and vibe of 90's era X-Files and David Duchovney's and Gillian Anderson's chemistry has never been better IMO. I'b be a little dissapointed if we didn't get another season, but who knows if it would even be nearly as good considering Gillian Anderson might leave anyways.

Re: The X-Files (Season 11)
Finally catching up on the final five episodes.
"Kitten" felt like an episode straight out of Season 4 or 5. Not necessarily a classic, but a well-crafted episode that finally gave Skinner and Mitch Pileggi something to do on the revival besides bounce between protagonist and antagonist.
"Rm9sbG93ZXJz" (aka Followers) is another solid episode and continues the trend of the show tackling real current or slightly futuristic issues. The idea of everything being controlled by artificial intelligence made for a great storyline, and the largely dialogue-free episode was a welcome change, considering the dialogue may be the one thing the revival series hasn't quite perfected. Again, more like fans of the show are copying the original, rather than original and new writers continuing something great.
Just three episodes left after this for me. Haven't heard anything about the future of the show. It's unfortunate that the amount of care for Season 11 wasn't put into Season 10. 10 in retrospect feels extremely rushed, and it turned off a lot of fans, as made abundantly clear by the ratings decline. Season 11 featured many episodes that I would rank with some of the best of the series. Perhaps a tad too polished, and everyone still has that feeling of "we're getting too old for this shit", but the episodes themselves have been really strong.
