Elon Musk not allowing his workers to work from home anymore.

My guess is the main purpose of this is a lot of Tesla employees are self-driving beta testers, so he wants them to commute more to improve their product faster.

Manufacturing needs lots of collaboration and so it makes sense for folks to go to work. That said the message and tone is BAD. Working at Tesla is not for faint hearted for sure.

I don't genuinely believe he was ever serious about buying Twitter. He likes to make these big statements and soak up the ensuing media attention. I'm not sure he could even afford Twitter, either. He's not cash rich. I think the idea of spam accounts/not being given access was an excuse. It gave him an out which he really needed because he finally realized the gravity of his situation. His baby, Tesla, also seemed to be hurt by this purchase somehow.

This is primarily in response to many (including celebs and verified accounts) changing their names to "Elon Musk." The richer you are, the more sensitive you are about being made fun of it seems.

And now that anyone can be "verified" for paying $8/month, anyone can just say whatever and be considered a "verified" source unless someone takes the time to fact-check and research it themselves. Not everyone has that time.

Good thing Tumblr made the first step this week toward possibly allowing porn back on their platform again.

From what I see so far he's killing the platform reputationally. It will probably be more profitable because how can it not be when you cut half the workforce? but users are leaving en masse.

So... the people paying that $8/month a month to be a verified account aren't official accounts. What's the point of being verified now if you're not official? :funny:

It's basically back to what it was before that the subscription plan, except some idiots are paying for Twitter now with their "lesser" status again despite that little checkmark.

I understand wanting a checkmark if you're a notable person, but regular people buying checkmarks and having a caption about how their checkmarks were bought by Twitter Blue does nothing for anyone. I don't think more of someone because they bought the checkmark. It's a meaningless perk.

So, 3/4 of Twitter employees are reporting resigning following Elon's hostile emails, and now all Twitter office buildings are temporarily closed and all employee access is suspended...

Yes, Musk is destroying Twitter and throwing away billions of dollars to make a point. The sad thing is, the irony of it all, is that Twitter is the reason Trump won the presidency. Not saying Elon Musk cares about Trump (he obviously does not) but Elon’s biggest cheerleaders are those who also suck up to Trump. The stupidity from his supporters knows no bounds
