It isn't banks not getting money back, it's taxpayer dollars that we are opting not to collect (basically).

Yeah, Arizona (Maricopa) is going to report another batch (60,000+, I think) in a couple hours. Some smaller counties also released some batches earlier too. Nevada is going to report more tonight, too (15,000+, I think).

EDIT! The Nevada ballot dumb just happened. 27,000 more. Certainly looks like Masto is going to win there now. She just eliminated nearly all of Laxalt's lead by earning 63% of the batch. Now behind a mere 798 votes with most of the remaining 68,000 or so to come from Clark and Washoe.

CCM will be called as the winner within the next 24 hours. We’ll know that Dems held on to Senate before the House is decided, which is something I never thought I would say for this election prior to Tuesday. Truly an awful performance by Republicans in general.

It is looking like the Dems will hold the Senate

Well the betting markets seem to think both senate races are over and Az gov is 50/50 but we’ll see how it goes, I thought Boebert would lose since they were tied and last county was Democrat voting, but it somehow ended up +1000 for her and the killshot the other way. Laxalt needs a batch like that where they’re holding onto Election Day only votes from a blue county or something.

MSNBC and CNN just called AZ for Kelly after he overperformed in the latest Maricopa dump.

It is incredible how dumb some of the GOPers think their voters are.

Kari Lake at moon: BOMBSHELL COMING TONIGHT!!! WATCHOUT FOR MARICOPA INCOMING!!!!

*Maricopa arrives*
*Kelly and Hobbs leads expands*

They are the definition of the politicians they claim to hate. They're so full of shit.

:funny:

Nice the GOP could flip at least one statewide race.

When was the last time no incumbents lost seats in a senate cycle? Looking very possible that will be the case

Next Maricopa batch is tipped off to be good for Lake. Masters needed all the pre election mail in ballots to be done yesterday as rumoured but there was still a decent amount today.

If the votes don’t get more Republican soon, it’s weird that they wouldn’t have called Masters loss a lot earlier.

It's still pretty close (AZ Gov) with a good bit of votes out. Now, if Lake doesn't get a ~60% batch in the next day or two, then yeah, that should be it for her, especially if any of them come in over 50% for Hobbs again.

In other news... Masto has been projected the winner in Nevada tonight, which gives Dems control of the Senate even without Georgia. Of course, having that 51 will go a long way when Manchin or Sinema have an issue with a judicial nominee or if a Supreme Court pick would come up in the next 2 years.

Also, McConnell said he'd retire if the GOP didn't take the Senate early this past year. I doubt he holds true to that, but let's hope.

This has been a historic failed midterms for the GOP. Clearly a party defining moment for them. At most they're going to have a ~4/5 seat majority in the House, if that. Might even be a mere seat or two. (And it's not even locked they gain control yet). And they didn't flip a single seat in the Senate, and even LOST one.

The runoff in Georgia should have significantly lower turnout without control on the line. Might help Republicans keep the senate 50/50, but they e managed to lose every statewide tossup race besides the Nevada governor so I won’t hold my breath.

I would think the opposite as it is deflating to GOPers and might keep GOP voters from voting for a weak candidate in Walker because it no longer has the stakes of holding the Senate

I mean odds are a similar percentage of both parties will not vote.

Post Re: The Biden era: The Establishment Strikes Back
A truly historic, remarkable feat and an epic testament to the true popularity of Joe Biden. That said:

-Some of these races are obviously EXTREMELY close. Dems won, which counts, but zero mandate or reason to get cocky
-GOP KILLED themselves by not openly and entirely ostracizing DT post 1/6, instead allowing MAGA to keep influencing
-GOP SEVERELY HURT themselves with many of these candidate choices which a result of said strategy
-GOP BEYOND DUMB for not entirely embracing early voting after 2020
-GOP KNEE CAPPED HARD by Supreme Court overturning abortion BEFORE midterms
-some GOP HISTORICALLY DUMB when calling for national abortion ban

It would be GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY, albeit BAD FOR DEMS, if the GOP would do some quick soul-searching and start getting more serious, less extreme candidate like Mitt Romney, Kizinger, etc in line for 2023. DeSantis is the big name now, for sure, but we'll see where it goes. They don't have a lot of time though. To be blunt, GOP probably wants a DT indictment to come even faster than Dems! :hahaha:

Re: GA- Warnock is quite popular and GA GOPers were motivated to keep Kemp over Abrams. I expect Warnock to lead polling.
Re: Stacey Abrams - forever a legend due to 2020. We'll see where she goes.

The Republicans lost all the states most people had as lean/toss-up, disappointing but ultimately those are called lean for a reason as they're not guaranteed. Very poor performance but I think this is an abnormal collectivist psychological/cultural moment which may make it hard to use past patterns. That's why the main thing I wanted out of this election is 2 more years of gridlock without massive post ending filibuster changes, to buy the US a few more years and hope the world has turned in a more sane direction by 2024. Although if it's even worse by 24 and the Republicans end up losing the presidency, house and have exactly 50 seats with Manchin and Sinema not there anymore to save the filibuster, it will be highly consequential to not have that extra seat or two in the bag from this election.

Kinzinger is as bad as Liz Cheney

I also think that overruling Roe v Wade is more important to Republicans than winning the senate for 2 years. The senate is up for election every 2 years. The Supreme Court had the chance after almost 50 years and something could have happened like Clarence Thomas death if they had waited.

Not to mention the draft was leaked, it’s possible they didn’t plan to announce the decision before the recess

I see no reason why the Repubs should be under 220 in House but the end of these elections recently are always a whatever can go wrong, will go wrong situation for them, so a collapse can't be ruled out.
