I'm what you would call far-left, I'd vote for Bernie Sanders in the US, and I think it's nonsense. It's one thing to treat people with dignity, to not discriminate on the basis of gender identity and to use people's preferred pronouns because it's always better to be polite. It's another to allow this to go through when everyone knows it's not fair.

I can't bring myself to be too bent out of shape about it (I care more about opportunities for female high school or college students etc. taken by trans women) but yes it is a farce, it'd be one thing if there was a trans figure skaters who could do quads or something which would still require a world class skill level to win, but weight lifting has to be the most connected to the biological advantages of anything.

Weightlifting, athletics, and perhaps swimming.

I'm curious to see how the IOC will handle this and how some professional cisgender sportswomen will react, especially from non-Western countries.

It is looking like Biden’s infrastructure plan made a miracle comeback with Bipartisan support. If it passes this will be a critical win for Biden and the US as our country desperately needs improved infrastructure

Also the Supreme Court made two critical decisions recently that aren’t getting talked about enough. One will prevent us from having another housing crisis like in 2008. The other supports the rights of student athletes

Every day for decades now. After how the U.S. handles healthcare, infrastructure must be next on the list of significant improvement.

But whatever the deal is, it's highly unlikely it's near enough, honestly. I doubt Biden's original plan was really there either. It's great that something may get passed, but it's a problem (understatement) that has just taken far too long to address.

Pretty much all the time things need to get worse (Buildings collapsing), before people get serious about improving stuff (passing an Infrastructure bill).

Shouldn't infrastructure be a states and cities thing? If the answer is "they're can't cause they're broke after covid", the federal government not being broke from covid cause they can print money is an illusion imo, it's just punishing people via inflation to pay for it having the same impact as raising taxes but avoiding the blame for it. Biden having inflation problems is not just fearmongering by conservatives but already real in April and May numbers at 4-5% when normal is around 2%.

When it involves interstate entities such as highways, railways, and what not, then it one-hundred percent involves the federal government.

Are Republicans really marching outside Philadelphia City Hall in Rorshach masks?

I think they missed the point of the show…

Though maybe they did and this is just the new white hood.

Counting on Harris in 2024 if Biden doesn't run seems like an increasingly bad idea for the Democrats, need a backup plan

Democrats don’t really have a candidate that will unite the populace to vote for them. AOC is probably the most popular Democrat among the base, but she loses the moderate vote that propelled Biden to victory.

Democrats strategy is only to demonize Republicans using the media so that the populace votes for Democrats as the lesser of 2 evils, as has been their strategy for a long time.

They need a "moderate" (if anyone still buys there is any left in the Democrats instead of them all being converted to radical leftism) who appeals to black voters. So AOC is unlikely because she is too socialist, and Buttigieg, Warren, Klob all flopped with black voters this primary.

I was toying with Tim Kaine being a sleeper, maybe he could do well with black voters as a southern state guy that apparently has a good history with civil rights in his lawyer career, and was on Hillary's ticket. OTOH he is super lame.

Crowds at CPAC were cheering whenever a speaker mentioned how low the vaccination rate was. Great people. Not a surprise that Trump had a 78% preferability for their 2024 candidate. Better to reign over the ashes of America than ever improve it …

Stacey Abrams would obliterate Harris if she Abrams actually ran. What she accomplished in GA in 2020 makes her a living Democrat legend and one of the most respect people in the entire party. She does not have an off-putting or alienating communications style ala Harris either. She also has insane fundraising prowess.

No doubt in my mind she wins huge if she ran.

Maybe on Twitter, but the base of the party is clearly very moderate. Biden CRUSHED Sanders when they went to head, and did it with way less money and campaigning.

She still seems pretty radical left to me. Maybe more like Bernie than AOC.
