The conservatives don't change the definition of words nearly as often, probably due to not having the power to without as many institutions supporting them as leftism as anything else.

Come on man! The institutions are obviously controlled by conservatives! Get out of here with your "the libs control the institutions" conspiracy theory

Yeah man liberals change definitions of words all the time. That's exactly what happens and is a real thing.

It's fitting that you use the word liberal to say this

I think the definition change I am the most annoy with is racism, the term now has become so convoluted that only white people can be racist.

Yes, and in reality whites are the least racist.

White people are the best at not being overtly racist due to how much they are taught not to be after learning about things like slavery and the holocaust, but the worst at subtle racism like the soft bigotry of low expectations and the white man's burden.

There are probably a ton of CRT reading suburban white women who's black gay friend in their book club they rave about and cannot see a single flaw in compared to that white bitch who sits beside him. But by doing this, it's robbing him of the interesting part that comes with being able to be flawed, being open to be annoyed by the white bitch makes her a deeper and more complex being like the characters in the books they talk about, while the black gay friend, perfect in her eyes, is merely an object to make her feel more enlightened. To truly be anti-racist, she would hold him the same standards he holds the white bitch, to be able to notice that he is pretentious and likes to hear himself talk too much is in fact giving him more respect than being automatically bowled over by him just because he's black and gay. This type of racism is probably more common nowadays by white people than going home to her husband and dropping the hard r. The many white people on twitter that are going to be more impressed when a black musician/actress/politician does something than if the identical accomplishment was done by a white person, are simply racist, they're treating black people as if on a lower tier naturally and therefore one of them accomplishing something instead of being a criminal stands out more to them.

Post Re: The Biden era: The Establishment Strikes Back
So the Dems are going into midterms with:

-Squad largely ignored
-Epic economic recovery relative to January 2021 across the board
-Likely cooling inflation
-Epic infrastructure bill
-More American made computer chips
-Huge growth EV usage
-Improving prescription drug prices
-The GOAT climate change bill
-Some not entirely meaningless gun legislation
-Likely student loan cancellation

Pretty fucking good and time for BIDEN 2024 please

The people you reference exist but you are GREATLY exaggerating the scope.

No, your reading comprehension is that of a 10 year old. 2008 was far worse than what is going on now. That is why it's not comparable. IF any Republicans claimed it wasn't a recession, they would've been completely delusional.

And as I shared above, it's very likely we're not actually in a recession when revisions come in.

Whether or not we are in a technical recession is also extremely misleading. As long as unemployment rate remains strong and inflation cools as is widely expected to happen, the economy is basically roaring.

An anti abortion measure in Kansas failed spectacularly. Kansans voted overwhelmingly in support of a constitutional protection for abortions at their state level. Bodes well for Democrats in November to some extent.

All this means is they can't ban abortion entirely, but they can restrict it.

If anti abortion people want anything they pass to stay in place long term they should start with restrictions rather than outright bans unless they know such a ban has popular support

The anti abortion fight isn't gonna be won overnight. Hopefully measures like these not being immediately being voted up doesn't discourage people from fighting.

I think this is hopeful news for the future. It shows the people are against abortion bans, at least want their rights protected and to health concerns to be private (similar sentiment with vaccines and masks). The GOP certainly made some lifetime members out of the issue, but overall it is a fairly unpopular stance they have here. It took years of packing courts to get to this point, but the will of the voters won yesterday. Especially eye opening, as the issue was far more 50/50 back in the proceeding decades. The Republicans need to be smart about this issue because the signs are clear: the anti-abortion crusade is growing more and more unpopular

Curious to know the population size, type, and method of polling. Either way, makes sense. Kansas is not California or Massachusetts and just overwhelming voted to support abortion rights. This really feels like the GOP being the dog chasing the mail truck and finally getting it.

Banning it outright even in the case of rape is clearly unpopular, I would expect that so is allowing late term ones.

Kansas makes me think that if given the option on the ballot (versus lawmakers just implementing near total bans or outright bans as they like), that forty+ states would vote similarly on abortion access. Even in the most conservative states, it hovers around that 50/50 mark based on polling.

Epic jobs report for JB. Well done. Momentum really beginning to pile on as they get towards midterms.

No doubt at all. Kansas! People hate having rights removed from them. This is def going to hurt Repubs if they don't get with the times.

Similar things under Obama, perception matters more than reality. Sort of like how people in the GOP camp desperately want to call the current economy a recession even though…it objectively is not. But you know…it feels like one, eh boys? Amiright?

Alex Jonás just got toasted. Hopefully more consequences for conspiracy theorists who are purposefully misleading the general population for profit.
