I even voted for Bill Weld when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts. Now I won't even vote for a Republican for dogcatcher. If you’re still a Republican after all this — after the concentration camps, the ICE raids, the racism, the sexism, the outright hatred and the criminal activities of the leaders of the party — then I have to assume you support all this, especially if you have been silent about it all. Sure, the position you’re running for doesn’t make political decisions, but if I vote for a Republican Dog Catcher, am I thus supporting someone who believes in white supremacy? That thinks my wife is a lesser person who can’t make her own decisions? Who has no sympathy for refugee children running from war and death? Who supports Russia over our own country? Who has no problem with corruption in the White House? Nope. Not helping that party in the slightest.

I wish the debates were this week. Politics are hot and on the top of everyone's mind. Next week people will be more into sharks, the real ones - with teeth.

Re: Debate #2
Whenever a candidate (Warren, Delaney, etc) is about to get into the detail of universal health care plans, moderator Jake Tapper interrupts with the superficial question "do you agree with Warren saying you have no courage..."
lol
Still, this is much more substantive political discussion than the last debate or anything coming from the current president.

I thought Warren/Sanders did great. (Williamson even recovered from her disastrous first debate)

Hopefully the eventual nominee will continue to bring good faith to the political discourse, which is currently polluted with made-up information and lies.

Re: Debate #2
I haven't paid too much attention to this race until now, but I do have one takeaway from debate 2 night one and reasearch I did before watching. Pete Buttigieg came across as intelligent, likeable, honest, and sincere. My impression is he'd make a very good president. Unfortunately, he's still a big underdog. He has qualified for the next round, so maybe he can get his message better heard in a smaller field.

Re: Debate #2
It's always fun when a candidate (Gillibrand) comes out firing at another candidate (Biden) and it blows-up in their face. I like (liked?) Gillibrand, but she really needs to calm down. The constant interrupting aside, her one-on-one with Biden tonight just reeked of political desperation.

Re: Debate #2
Everyone but Biden and Harris exceeded my expectations. I especially liked Booker and Gabbard. I could see either holding up in a debate with Trump.

Re: Debate #2
Booker/Castro are probably the only two from night two I would consider voting for in the primary.
Tulsi is a freaking war hawk, Kamala has a poor history on health care and incarceration. Biden is too moderate.
Night one was far superior, imo.

Night one was far superior, imo. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing to extract our collective noses out of other peoples business when it comes to deployed service people and use those resourses on improving life in our own country. I was impressed with how well Gabbard spoke compared to the others and how effectively she slammed Harris. Makes me want to see her crush Trump like that. FYI, war hawk is someone who favors war, which Gabbard does not.

Re: Debate #2
I’m behind.
Night 1 review: Not sure anyone really won White Night. Three hours is too long unless you’re gonna kill Thanos at the end. I was sure as hell entertained by how pissed off Bernie was getting about everything but I doubt that will translate to votes. Lizzie had some good quotes, but ultimately came off as a less passionate version of Bernie which is not at all good for her. Buttigieg did well, his time will come eventually. Probably next election cycle if the Dems lose in 2020.
Looking forward to Joe Biden v The World on night 2.

Re: Debate #2
Tulsi wrecking Kamala went viral. Kamala's response afterwards saying that "I'm a top tier candidate, and people at 0-1% are trying to get their name out by attacking me" was also a bad look. Horrible night for her

Re: Debate #2
She has this weird cult online that seems to try to prop her up. TONS of trump bots. And her stance on Assad is... NOT GOOD!
There are tons of red flags with her.

Re: Debate #2
Something seems off about Gabbard. We need some digging into her political history.
She tweeted this in October, 2015:
Quote: Gabbard: "Al-Qaeda attacked us on 9/11 and must be defeated. Obama won’t bomb them in Syria. Putin did."
Did she really think this was about Al-Q? Assad is Putin's ally. Russia is in Syria to help Assad crush the opposition (not Al-Q, not IS).
Not only did she not get the facts straight, she also argued for US military intervention. That was not exactly what I expected of a candidate of non-interventionism.

Re: Debate #2
It seems like she supports bombing terrorists but is one of the most anti-war candidates. She met with Assad because she believes in trying diplomacy with dictators to stop wars rather than intervention which always destabilizes things and makes it worse.
I don't agree with her economics personally, but on the whole someone who's anti-intervention and wants to spend on government programs domestically should be popular with the left. But she is scaring the establishment, lobbyists and the people who benefit financially from intervention, so the propaganda machine is in full force to paint her as an Assad apologist and Russian spy

Re: Debate #2
Hhmm by us funding the Syrian rebel terrorists that endless war went on and on and then ISIS stepped in the mix. That horrible civil war would have ended years ago if we didn’t get involved as usual trying to overthrow Assad just like Qaddafi. This has been an ongoing joke for years and all during Obama’s last term we got nothing but videos of beheadings, palmyra destroyed, Christian ethnicities enslaved and destroyed in Syria and Iraq. Can we just let the god damn dictator who doesn’t want to behead people who aren’t Muslim win already...
