You have to really question the President and the US govt when Russia is making more sense. :funny:

That was actually Kerry's proposal (http://news.yahoo.com/kerry-syrian-handover-chemical-arms-could-prevent-attack-093723966.html).

Quote:
John Kerry, US Secretary of State: "Sure, he could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week - turn it over, all of it without delay and allow the full and total accounting (of it), but he isn't about to do it and it can't be done."

But the State Department later said Kerry had been making a rhetorical argument about the impossibility of Assad turning over chemical weapons, which Assad denies his forces used in the August 21 poison gas attack.

I don't understand why Obama cares about political points. He doesn't have to run for reelection anymore. Go back on your word and do the right thing and say that going into Syria is a mistake.

What is happening over there and what Assad is doing is horrible. But to think that US military action is a solution is just straight up silly. Sometimes, you just have to accept that bad things happen in the world and there's very little you an do to make it better.

But Obama wants to do it. He sent it to Congress hoping they would agree. He talked about it heavily at the G20. Even though no one else is interested. Now he is going to do press conferences on Tuesday.

The thing that I don't understand is Obama not thinking this will turn into a big deal.. So naive. As if he does it, it is going to turn into a nice conflict..

Putin should say Edward Snowden advised him to go that route. Just for the humor.

I know you are saying Russia is a "big dog" but...

Actually, nevermind. You're not worth it.

Oh but they are, anyone with nuclear or atomic weapons is. We make such a big deal about a terrorist chemical attack while North Korea starves it's citizens to death. Course we won't bother them because they can actually mass destroy stuff unlike Syria. That's why it's so important for Iran to keep it's goal of developing nuclear power. It's the only way to get My Country off it's back and hopefully out of that region.

To put that number in perspective; less than 3,000 people died in the September 11 attacks.
