Re: Syria
No, he didn't. When you're about to ATTACK A COUNTRY, you can think logically about things before reverting to "Well, I DID say it was a red line! WAR TIME!"
Stop being stupid.

Re: Syria
You fail to see the actual point.
When Obama said it would be a Red Line it was a threat and now he has said it again.
If he backs off now he is a wimp, but if he does something he is Bush 2.0.
If he did not say it was a Red Line, Obama would be under no obligation to attack Syria. Now its face saving excerise.
I do not see why it is so hard to see Obama made a mistake with Syria. He made a mistake with Libya when Bhengazi blew up in his face. He made a mistake with Egypt backing the Muslim Brotherhood and now were back to likely military control or dictators in Egypt.

Re: Syria
He hasn't even done anything with Syria.
Example:
If I said "If one of my dogs dies before the end of the summer, I'm going to buy a puppy. Well, the summer is over, one of my dogs died, and I haven't bought a puppy. There was no mistake made.

Also, Benghazi didn't "blow up in his face". Republicans made a huge deal out of a conspiracy theory.

Re: Syria
Chippy are you just pretending to be naive?
Obama has been supporting the opposition for 2 years now with weapons and now its a clusterfudge of a situation where the opposition are now mostly islamic terrorists. We have created a situation where you have Assad and Terrorists on the other.
I think you need to stop being so naive and think anything a government does is through press releases and speeches and look at what is actually going on the ground.

I'm not being naive, but I'm not creating wild theories about every conflict and then blaming the government for everything.

Re: Syria
Another potential mess in the happening here. And Kerry's words from earlier today weren't far from saying they're ready for military action.
And it's interesting that France is in full support of military action, while Britain rejected it today.

Going to "war" isn't a good idea. But if the rumors are true of chemical weapons attacks from the Syrian government, SOMETHING has to be done. Why does Something have to be done? Why do we have to do Anything?

Re: Syria
How has Obama done nothing in Syria? His govt is supproting the rebels with supplies, now the rebels are now Islamic terrorists? Unintended consquences? We just helped arm our enemies? (not the first time Iraq pre Gulf War 1, The fighters in Afghanistan who latter became he Taliban) Quote: Also, Benghazi didn't "blow up in his face". Yes it did, we helped a country and they went and just said fuck you. Then Obama administration said it was just of angry mob who attacked when it was actually a coordinated terrorist attack. Lol wild Theories... You trust what Obama has to say over what actually is happening. I think you need to stop jerking off while listening to his grand overblown rhetoric.

Re: Syria
Spot on Manny. Obama screwed up in backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and once again going down a similar path in Syria.

Re: Syria
The Obama administration should have acted more swiftly. Whether it seeks to share the burden of a military strike with the international community or goes at it alone with congressional authorization, it should have done it within days. Now Obama is perceived as backtracking amid weakening international support.

Re: Syria
I heard on the news that if this doesn't pass Congress, Obama still might go ahead and bomb them.. So only Obama and the French are in favor of this. Also why doesn't Obama show all the proof that other countries are requesting?

Re: Syria
Man I am dying of laughter. Obama and Kerry made thier politican fortunes on rallying on peace and against the fear and violence of the Bush administration. Now they are using the same exact language and inspiring fear saying Syria is a threat to America. Oh How the great Liberal Hope has fallen... I heard some one from the whitehouse on CNN say they need to set up a coalition of the willing. ROFL IMO America is no position to justify a war against a country on the basis of morality for the US is no position to lecture other countries on morality.
