On this 4th of July, America's Independence Day Weekend, I can report that Obama has done nothing worthy or good as President, except ruin our country for future generations.

"good or worthy" is too subjective.

I tend to base my judgment on presidents using factual data. I debated this way many times when evaluating Clinton or the Bushes. For example, the last Bush doubled unemployment from 4% to 8%, drove up the deficit, and the Dow plummeted under his watch. I can't find many indicators to suggest he did well, only excuses/spin as to why things went so poorly. On the flip side, all these indicators rose for Clinton pretty dramatically from the first Bush.

As for Obama, for me, the first year has been mixed.

The Dow has lately been pretty consistently at 2000-3000 above when he took office, and I think most economic indicators are above where they were in he took office.

The unemployment rate has risen from 8.1% to 9.3%

Deficit wise, I believe that Bush was running a $700 billion one when he left office, and Obama is around $1.5 trillion, but I could be slightly off on those figures.

There are other indicators as well, but on those big ones, I feel Obama has made some progress in the economy based on where it was when he took office. Unemployment is higher, but is headed downward, as opposed to upward when he took office. The deficit is where I'd give him very poor marks.

It's hard to predict the future, but looking at graphs and data, it does suggest that most indicators, outside of the deficit, are heading in a positive direction, or at least leveling off from what they were when Bush left office.

I'm left to assume that you then agree with me... that in the areas outside of the deficit, Obama has shown improvements over Bush, or at least it appears headed in a better direction.

Picked Kagan to be a Justice. I loved her answer on the gun rights being settled law. That was giving Feinstein a headache.

Justice Sotomayor said the same thing then ruled in the opposite direction in McDonald v. City of Chicago. Saying something is "settled law" does not mean that a justice will not try and change the settled law.

I am 100% sure that Kagan will not side with the 2nd Amendment as fundamental/incorporated right wing of the court. If Senator Feinstein thinks Kagan would vote with the "conservative" wing of the court on that issue, then she is frankly an idiot and should not be on the judiciary committee (just like Al Franken).

I saw a clip over Sotomayor's switcheroo. I see where you're coming from, but we can only hope that Kagan sticks with what she's saying and follows what the court has recently ruled.

So Obama and the federal gov't have a problem with Arizona enforcing illegal immigration. The federal gov't says no you can't as immigration is under federal laws.

But why should the states stand by and not enforce broken laws when the federal government and the finger pointing Obama do nothing.

Well teenagers always use to work those jobs to pay for school and other things and now teenage unemployment ranges from 30 to 50 %.
