This is not true yet. Much of northern Virginia (where I live) has not reported, and that is what would seal Obama's victory in VA. Prince William County (a county near me) is reporting some people will be in line past 10 tonight.

Chuck Todd basically said that a few minutes ago. I wouldn't be worried yet.

Virginia is also a mess right now they are still voting there.

Uh no, Newport News, Norfolk, Richmond, Fairfax Co, Arlington Co. and Alexandria have not reported 10% yet. These are Obama vote motherlodes. Romney might win, but it will be extremely close.

CBS just said that Virginia is STOPPING reporting results until people have finished voting so as not to influence. Our polls closed almost 2 hours ago! Insanity.

Eh, some of the northern counties are leaning far more red than expected. Obama isn't carrying the northern counties with the margins he needs to. He's in trouble in VA.

Yep, there it is. Arkansas wasn't marked in red initially.

Romney: 88
Obama: 78

Florida and especially Ohio are looking good for Obama though.

Ohio isn't looking good for Obama. The votes being counted at the moment are from early voting, which heavily favors the Democrat. Obama got 66% of the early votes in 2008 over McCain. Right now he's winning only 57% of the early votes.

It's still way too early to say that he's in trouble. People are still voting 2 hours after the polls closed. No one should be making definitive statements about Virginia for a while.

Dude. No. Why are you making these statements that aren't true? If anything, Ohio looks encouraging for Obama so far.

Just because his margin of early votes is lower is not a crisis. The election will be closer. That makes sense.

Then let's just say the first state that easily could have leaned Obama and ended the night is looking very much in play. Plenty of good news in Florida, I wouldn't worry.

In the senate race, Elizabeth Warren (D) has a four point advantage over Scott Brown (I, but really R) at the moment.

Warren: 52%
Brown: 48%

Almost a 5,000 vote lead.

At least McCaskill has the lead here in Missouri. Though the fact that Akin currently has 44% is way too much.

Everyone should be watching CNN, they do a great job contrasting prior results and drilling down to the county level.

Huh? It'll be down to the wire for VA given what precincts have been reported.

And I now do believe Obama will carry Florida given what's left to be counted, although the margin could be close enough to trigger automatic recount.

Ha that is quite shocking, especially since her ad campaign has been very good. Sad she even had to campaign that hard against a guy like Akin.

Yep, they've been really concise and aren't willing to call as many states as CBS has. The funny thing though is that they keep cutting away to places that have TV's and almost all the TV's they've shown are tuned in to CBS.

Exactly but sadly there are a lot of hardcore Republicans who believe in the filth Akin believes.

I tried watching Fox News, I typically find their coverage to be decent, leaning right, but with enough counter balancing guests that I am fine with the bias. Unfortunately, tonight their coverage has been awful and I gave up on them. I love statistics and while they typically dive in, they hadn't before I gave up. Karl Rove, while obviously biased, typically does a great job providing real meaningful analysis.
