…and now the news has moved on. It does seem like the Trump team desperately wanted another story to break away from the debate, and the mainstream media took the bait. But on my social media platform I haven’t seen a single mention of it. Everyone is talking about football or Springfield, Ohio. Even my super Trump fan friends are just posting the usual bullshit memes.

Trump was targeting centrists before but the last week made it back into a turnout election for him. The pet quote probably alienated moderates that were talking themselves into him, but if the goal is to make Trump supporters vote instead of stay home, not wanting 10,000 Haitians dropped into their town (and yes a little thing called racism is a factor here) and a 2nd assassination attempt was great to make the rurals really energized to vote. On the other hand it also possibly boosts the people who don't like Harris to turn out just to vote against Trump. I think I like this environment more for Trump because people had already made up their mind on him after 9 years and two elections, it's just about getting them to vote.

Yup, as predicted, Trumpers found a way to justify the eating the pets line. "But they are eating the ducks!" won out. As if mixing up ducks and dogs on a national debate stage isn't alarming enough. But yeah, its easier to jump through those mental hoops than admit you've been swindled by a conman for the past decade.

New Prediction: Kamala gets 100 million votes, but its still close enough in the swing states for Trump to pull some shit and try to steal it. I'm back to being concerned...

It's more believable than some left wingers are saying that a Haitian would eat a cat or do animal sacrifice both of which apparently happens in their home country, but it's just not that big of a deal overall especially if they're doing it to stray ones and it's a relatively minor number.

I'd really like to see Kamala flip Texas now. We need an outright rejection of a Trump reboot and another close election will, at best, just see him coming back again for the 2028 nomination. At the same time there also needs to be some hope for republicans that if they nominate a real candidate in 28 they'll have a more than good chance of taking it. No party has won 3 in a row since the 80s. Fear of an everlasting blue white house will drive people into Trump's arms faster than transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison (and she will never support fracking in Pennsylvania.)
