34th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre
May it never be forgotten.
----------
Already in Hong Kong there have been
arrests, but the vigil culture has largely disappeared now since the National Security Law came into place in 2020. And on the mainland, well, there's never anything because it has been erased from history so nobody even knows about it. But the memory of Tank Man and the lives lost at the hands of Deng Xiaoping and the CCP still live on outside of Chinese borders. There's vigils in the US and UK among other places, and the
pillar of shame has been erected in Germany (since it was removed from Hong Kong).
Funnily enough even SiTong Bridge in Beijing is a sensitive term in China now since the
protestby the citizen hero named "Bridge Man" last year - he's probably dead now.
Anyway, there are lots of people in China (and especially Hong Kong) that dislike the CCP and can see them for what they are; a mafia. There are clever people in China. They're not all braindead drones. It's just they have a relatively small voice when the proverbial government boot is permanently on their throats.
