Qaddafi
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41793330/ns ... tn_africa/How do you think he's going to fall from power? Is he going to pull a Hitler? Is he gonna be Mussolini'd? Saddam'd? Or like Mubarak or Ben Ali? I think he'll probably have to die to stop.

Re: Qaddafi
Will the US intervene beyond enforcing a no-flight zone?

Re: Qaddafi
Apparently, Hillary is gonna meet with this puny rebel forces leaders tomorrow. I must ask...why?
What is the point? These people probably hate America anyway so why even bother. I say we just let Qadafi get the job done and the world can be right again until he passes on. Oil prices will then go down and Europe will get it's supply of oil flowing again instead of considering a no fly zone and recognizing the puny rebel force.
I sure wish one or more of these Arab countries will develop a nuclear weapon because that would be the only deterrent from us sticking our nose in their internal affairs.

Re: Qaddafi
Fun fact: The weapons the Libyan government is using against the rebels were mostly bought from USA.

Re: Qaddafi
Fun fact: The Libyan Air Force consists mostly of Tupolevs, Sukhois, Migs and Antonovs.
Fun fact: The Lybian ground mobile vehicles are mostly from the Uralvagonzavod company.
Fun fact: Unless the USA sells Russian arms to other countries, the post above mine is wrong.

Re: Qaddafi
10 members of the FuckN security council voted for a no fly zone while 5 bastards abstained. Chickens. So I guess we'll be invading Libya in the future because these so-called rebels have no chance to defeat Qaddafi's forces and I don't see him stepping down anytime soon.

Libya has been a banned destination for U.S. manufactured arms since 1991 and ITAR is not the only export law operating in this area. Also, if you remember Libya brought down the plane over Lockerbie and also bombed a German Disco with U.S. servicemen in 1986. Libya is also a designated sponsor of terrorism by the United States. You can look at some other controls here: http://www.bis.doc.gov/policiesandregulations/libyaoveralguidance.htmLibya was also aligned with the Soviets (which Price pointed out), at least since Gaddafhi took over in 1969 and expelled the Brits and Americans. They also shot at some U.S. planes back in 1981 and were quickly owned. Oh yea, I also forgot the part in 1986 when the Untied States tried to assassinate Gaddafhi (technically that is illegal, but we all know what Reagan was trying to do).

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/03 ... index.htmlQuote: But China's foreign ministry said Sunday it did not agree with the use of force in international relations. And Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also denounced the military intervention.
"They (the United States) want to appropriate the oil in Libya; they don't care about anyone's life in that region," Chavez said.

Re: Qaddafi
Chevez and China don't like it because they are dictators themselves and are worried the people might overthrow them. I say fuck what they think. I think the west had no choice but to do this, right now France is doing most of the attacking (which is very ironic considering France's recent history. Gadhafi is a monster. I think it helped we had the support of the Arab League because we could have never done this without them. From here, we should keep bombing the Libyan military and then give weapons and aid to the rebels and let them overthrow Gadhafi.

Re: Qaddafi
The French never were very good to North Africans of any stripe.
Any involvement in this is tricky though. It's not like the Arabs are all a hive mind and don't screw each other over.

Re: Qaddafi
Chavez, as insane as he is, sort of has a point though. If there was no economic interest they would not be doing anything beyond "strongly condemning" Gadaffi.

I don't think anyone here would pretend anything we do in the middle east is out of altruism.
