Battle 2 - Independence Day Vs. Mars Attacks! - both alien invasion pics were released in 1996.  ID4 was perhaps one of the most anticipated event films of the 90's while Mars Attacks! barely made a ripple despite the star cast and director. Tonally very different - which do you prefer? |

Yeah I really need to see both again. I barely remember Mars Attacks though. |

This is tough. I adore ID4 for essentially creating the modern blockbuster. But can’t vote against Mars Attacks, the best Tim Burton movie. |

When ID4-2 released I saw both of these and I prefer ID4 even though Mars Attacks is overall more fun |

Mars Attacks! is a fun film but ID4 is quite a monster. |

ID4 no contest. I don't think I've ever seen Mars Attacks though. |
