I've been to Mexico many times and have a Mexican friend. They all wear hats and have donkeys.

Any romantic comedy where the lead has a gigantic NYC apartment and works as an assistant or something (I see you 27 Dresses). You'd realistically be living in a shoebox.

or with her parents still or at least 3 roommates. Struggling artist with a huge loft is always a fun one too.

Not just apartments. When folks with low income jobs have mansions ?

People never say "bye" when they answer the phone, and they rarely say "hello" either. They just pick up and talk and hang up. I don't know about you Yankees, but in the UK (and everywhere else I've been), we always say "bye" or some variation on that.

^^ Good one, too.

Also when people make up a meeting, they never say any time, it's like they telepathically know when to show up.

It's like when they turn on the TV and the news broadcaster has just begun the story that is important to them at that very second.

Do you put on slippers Riggs?

Slippers, socks, barefoot... all a possibility because my floor is clean. :)

It's almost always raining when two would be lovers with a complicated relationship kiss for the first time.

This always reminds me of the film critic in Ladyin the Water...

I don't think I've ever kissed anyone when it's raining hard. Usually the thought is to get OUT of the rain.

But they're SO in love, Chip....they're getting wet (in more ways than one) and they don't care.

In a lot of movies, when someone is killed blood will drop from their mouth. This is regardless of whether the injury occurred in or near the mouth. Someone can be shot in the chest and the blood will pour from their mouth. Now, I'm sure there is some logic to it in terms of coughing up blood, but it seems a bit of a movie cliche than a reality. I've seen a guy get shot twice in the chest, fall down, and the final shot is of him laying there with blood coming from his mouth. I just cannot think of a reason why the blood would come out of that opening when there are two holes in his chest the blood could come out from.

Sounds like a myth busters episode., I’m sure it’s just more the old visual of “he’s dead” it shys away dead people still breathing or their eyes moving, which is also annoying as hell. I always laugh at die hard when the dead guy closes his eyes in the middle of the scene :funny: come mctiernen, you couldn’t cover that

For me it has to be unrealistic timelines. Even a show like 24 which took pride on its timeline, cop films take months but they are usually a few days. I did a little forensic work in the past and that took almost 5 days to get to them.

Oh and holding breath underwater, fuck you! Anyone else hold their breath when an underwater scene happens?

Movie Trope:
When a character doesn't immediately explain what happened, to stop the conflict.

Just let me explain, I swear that's not what happened. If you just let me finish, I'll tell you!

In real life, people usually just say it...right away. Immediately.

Movie trope: On television and in movies, people seldom say good bye at the end of a telephone call, instead they just hang up.

In real life (at least in the West), there is usually a goodbye or some sort of conclusion...instead of an abrupt hanging up.

Yeah, I've said for years that the "I can explain" line is utter bullshit. It only exists in TV and Movie land, because in real life people just don't preface an explanation, they instead just start explaining!

There's no time to explain!
