This is the top replacement pick right now. But currently there is no pick needing replacement.

Algren wrote: I hear O's points, and they make sense, but I'm just not sure how much weight I attribute to them. I still have a huge doubt that this series is something that moviegoing people of today care about. I am also skeptical about his point re: bookending COVID. I'm not sure it needs closure in the form of a film - people have already gotten over it. This film will just be another zombie/zombie-adjacent movie. And the trailer/cast list seems to indicate that Murphy only has a cameo, and even then he'll be covered in makeup/prosthetics. I cannot see anyone caring that he is in the movie. I also don't see - despite Oppenheimer's success - that he is now suddenly a huge draw. I believe Oppenheimer was down to Nolan and Barbie, not Cillian Murphy. He may be well liked in a specific role, say Peaky Blinders, but as a movie star I still do not see it.
Ultimately Mr. Box Office Poison, ATJ, will probably kill the chances of 28 Years Later. I think it is a certainty to finish at $80m rather than open to it. Good points. Hence why even as a nostalgic breakout - the OW to me would be about $50m with OK legs to about $120m at best. That said - that could still be too high. We'll see. ATJ - for a second I thought you were referring to Anja Taylor Joy

Looks like what a Statham movie should be.

Could it be another Beekeeper? not sure. It certainly looks better but that doesn't always mean more $$$. I hope it can do very well though.

Re: The New Trailers Thread - How to Train Your Dragon
The Beekeeper boggles the mind at how it broke out amongst all of Statham's standard action films. Not complaining as it won me the last round of the draft.

Re: The New Trailers Thread - How to Train Your Dragon
Hmm so its not a direct adaptation of the game, but I like the idea of turning the choice-based gameplay (that encourages replaying it to see different endings) into a time loop and then adding multiple different types of monsters rather than just the wendigo. Clear inspiration from Cabin in the Woods. Looks awesome.

I like the idea of Pascal and Kirby being "mature" middle aged seeming superheroes.

ScarJo looks great in Jurassic World. Also nice to see Spino back but I'm not sure that there's all that much nostalgia to milk from Jurassic Park 3.

Re: The New Trailers Thread - F4 fam
Looks pretty generic and cheaper compared to stuff like Jurassic 2 big exploding volcano type of spot.

Looks lame.
And lol at the idea of anyone wanting protection and Scarlet Johansson is your first choice.

So are they supposed to bring Ving Rhames along to punch the dinosaurs in the face?

I just know that bringing dinosaurs back to life is more believable than getting someone who's 5'3 to be your security.

If you ever needed proof that superheroes are now box office poison it's Marvel saying "Go see our new movie which definitely ISN'T about superheroes".

The Superbowl spot for Smurfs ... well, damn. I regret choosing this in the draft, even in round 6!

Re: The New Trailers Thread - F4 fam
The Accountant² looks quite mediocre for a sequel. Usually they're bigger and better. This feels pointedly smaller in scope, and it now has jokes. Those feel out of place. It ultimately feels like a streaming sequel.
But the movie-going population in the US is fickle as fuck so it will probably do $160 million.

Thunderstruck was a -200 favorite to be the song in the Thunderbolts trailer but the upset came through.
