Post Christmas Movies 2023
What Christmas movies did you all watch this year?

My family and I watched:

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (both the Jim Carey version and the Illuminations one, my son loves the Grinch (and we watched the short as well of course))
The Star (movie sucked but my son liked the talking donkey)
Home Alone 1 and 2 (classics and despite being a retread of the first one, the sequel has an awesome production value to it that makes it so damn charming)
Christmas Vacation (the best Christmas move hands down and an all time classic comedy. This and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles are his two best works)
Christmas Story (it has a strong nostalgia vibe to it that carries the movie)
Elf (corny at times, but great production value at the beginning of the movie. Too bad the New York scenes feel so underwhelming in comparison)

And some Disney cartoons I am not going to list

Saw Wonka with mom. Nothing special otherwise. There's alot of good christmas movies but I usually only get the urge to watch one on Christmas itself, rather than the entire season like Halloween.

I don't really love any Christmas movies besides home alone and elf, so I'm not gonna watch any other ones every year.

The more you watch it the more it becomes one of those fuzzy and warm Christmas movies you look forward to every year. I hasn't reached the same level as Home Alone, but for me it is definitely up there.

Yes. It feels re-watchable so look forward it again. Home Alone is pure Christmas comfort food. It's a tradition.

What did you think of Deck the Halls? I've never seen it. Suitable for kids?

I think it's suitable for children. I don't remember any swearing in it, and definitely no sex or violence. It's Matthew Broderick, so it's safe. I liked the movie. It doesn't really matter the quality of a Christmas movie so much, as long as it's Christmassy I generally rate them as satisfactory.

Funnily enough I caught some of Deck the Halls again this year, but ony a bit.

I watched Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride: Part II, Crocodile Dundee, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom this year, plus the bulk of Mrs. Doubtfire.

I usually don't get into the Christmas season as much as Halloween but did this year for some reason.

The Santa Clause - 7.5/10 - Tim Allen was great for this role.
Santa Clause 2 - 6.5/10 - not as good but still entertaining
Santa Clause 3 - 2.5/10 - total franchise killer

Home Alone 1- 6/10 - I get it, but Kevin is the worst
Home Alone 2 - 4.5/10 - Proof that Donald Trump will take something mediocre and make it even worse

Harold and Kumar Christmas - 9/10 - hadn't seen this film since it released but still holds up as not only a great Christmas movie, but the best in the series. Fuck pancakes!

A Christmas Story - 8/10 - Had never actually seen this in full (though had probably seen the entire thing out of order since, locally, its the second most famous movie behind only Major League lol.)

I think a Christmas Story was on mute when the family opened presents if that helps. I have such a limited time to watch things now, I've seen every christmas movie, None are really in that "I have to watch" to get in the mood for Christmas. I usually just listen to christmas songs for about about 3 days on my commute, that does the trick, I'd much rather watch something new though. I tried a little bit of Red One but got bored about 25 mins in and stopped it.
