The industry needs to give the writers and actors what they want cuz the industry will go bankrupt at this point if they let the release schedule get barren again.

The people who'd need a union the most are the extras or ones with a few lines, not the DiCaprios. It makes sense they're not happy about the green screening going on nowadays, if you can do stuff like make a fake crowd of people on a computer instead of filming it. Or if instead of hiring a character actor with a pre-eminent grumpy middle aged woman face for a few lines as she hands the hero his change, they could hire a cheaper actor and then deepfake a grumpy middle age woman face on them. Or after the top 100 extra actors with great looks sell their likeness for digital reuse, it becomes impossible for anyone else to break in since the studios are more comfortable using the same ones over and over again, sometimes even after they're dead.

Hollywood scripts have been poop lately. If they get what they want they better write better stuff

But alot of these movies are written by committee right? So lets say you get the job for Quantumania but you're told you have to have Kang as the villain and set 90% of the movie in the quantum realm and you have to keep the runtime at only 2 hours and you can't bring back any of the supporting characters from the previous movies and its 5 years after the last but you can't really acknowledge that for fear of alienating someone who is watching their first Marvel film. Where do you go with that? Why is it that the studio execs and producers who force all of those bad ideas on the writers get paid so much more? Couldn't studio executives be easily replaced by AI as well? Hey Hal, is this movie gonna be a hit? Yes? And I don't need to pay you $100M per year?

Not bad casting (though he wasn't as good in the Iron Claw as the Bear) and I think setting it in a small period of time is a the right strategy for biopics quality wise at least.

Idk if she'll be acting in them but both would be good Barbie follow-ups. The Sims movie is an especially great idea.

The Barbie movie was more of an adapation of the Sims than it was Barbie if you really think about it.

Tarantino is out on The Movie Critic and will make something else as his "final" film. Hopefully he just makes his Star Trek movie but I'm worried this process could take years.
