Three Burials for Melquiades Estrada
Lonesome Jim
Don't Come Knocking

I'm hoping to see L'Enfant, Joyeux Noel, and/or Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont tomorrow, with Tsotsi and Adam and Steve later in the week.

I don't think I'll survive.

How was Lonesome Jim? I was going to try and catch it when I was down in LA, but I just plain ran out of time.

I gave it a C, it has its moments of charm (almost exclusive to the scenes between Tyler and Affleck) but overall, very amatuerish. I understand the comparisons to Garden State but overall night and day.

Just douche for a while and watch lots of Mission Impossible and Charlies Angels movies, that should sort it right out.

Worked for me!

I generally only see appealing indie movies. That'd be about 1 a year then.
No I'm not THAT bad, but Indie movies really kind of suck these days.

Me and You and Everyone We Know was one of the hokiest, most dishonest movies ive ever seen, The whole thing was like ane emo cliche.

How was The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada? It's been playing around here for a while and it looks pretty interesting, but I haven't had much time to go to the movies latel, so I'm wondering if it's worth it.

What struck me most was how funny (in a dark sense) the film was. Tommy Lee Jones did an incredible directing and acting job.

Barry Pepper also happens to play the single most repulsive movie character since Booger in Revenge of the Nerds.

I'm in Houston until next week, though Im going to Austin over the weekend for a special AICN screening.

If Friends With Money is playing around here, I'm sure to check it out. Maybe Jennifer will finally appear in a film I can enjoy.

Yeah, I just checked Film Jerk's Early Report.

It says FWM is opening at the Angelika Film Center in Houston and the Angelika Film Center in Plano on Friday.

Cool beans, Tsotsi and Adam and Steve (my shout out to the pink mafia) are playing there this week, hopefully they'll be held over.

The trailer was an interesting mix of animation and low-budget reality shots. But you know, now that I have a doppleganger, you can put him on a couple of these missions too. We'll get twice the coverage this way.

Yes, but they are incorporated to the story quite well.

Also it was filmed where I live.

What country does loyal live in? I think LBW is in very, very limited release like LITTLE FISH which is out on DVD this week everybody!!!

Oh yeah? How was Joyeux Noel? For some reason, I couldn't generate the desire needed to see that film.

I gave it an A.

I'm a huge fan of war films and Joyeux Noel didn't disappoint. Solid cinematography, acting, it had light moments, most importantly, plenty of heart.

I'm also going to an advance screening of On a Clear Day on Thursday. If I catch Tsotsi or Adam and Steve tomorrow, I've officially OD'd on Indies.

I think if I see 12 Indies in 12 days, I lose my membership to the Michael Bay Fan Club.
