Alicia looks almost half-cast there.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I think Sly and JJL are both very much in the hunt but those are 4 pretty safe predictions. I used to think JLaw had a shot to repeat but then I watched Joy.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
Rylance winning would be so strange in that it's a very un-Oscary performance. Supporting Actor is such an insane mess, though.

I'd be happy with these winners, especially Leo and Brie.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I don't think Brie is safe at all, 60/40 maybe over Ronan
Supporting Actress Rooney Mara is probably still heavily in play although I like the Vikander in Ex Machina idea for the win, and Winslet is lurking

I am predicting Vikander will win for The Danish Girl.

Looks less like this year's winners and more like a three-way, with Rylance watching in the corner.

I'm going by how Vikander Ex Machina has been the one that's dominated the critics awards, low key it has won as much as Rylance and DiCaprio. At some point that might just go all the way, although SAG chose Danish Girl of the two

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I do not believe Alicia Vikander is anywhere near a lock. The entire Supporting Actress category is in a four way deadlock. I could see Vikander, Mara, Winslet or Leigh win. The only one with no shot is McAdams.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
It is more up in the air than the lead categories, but I believe Vikander will win. Mara is in second place, then Winslet in a very distant third. I do not believe Leigh or McAdams can win.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I think there is absolutely no way of telling, at the moment, who is in what spot in that category, heh. It's crazy. I totally believe that Leigh can actually win. She might have missed SAG, but she scored nominations everywhere else.
Vikander winning for The Danish Girl would probably be one of the most unspectacular "Oh, that happened" acting wins in a long time. Same aplied to Winslet too, though. And maybe the rest of the category.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
What's in Vikander's favor is that she also has that Ex Machina performance. Yeah, they are not crowning "the supporting actress of the year", but with the year she had, I'd bet some would vote for her because of it.

What a weird category. None of them seem to have great narratives or award season passion. I'll go with McAdams for now.

Re: Here are your four acting-category winners
I think McAdams can win. Just because she's the only performance coming from a Best Picture nominee, and Spotlight has a lot of passion. And she seems to be a well-liked actress within the industry. But honestly, I think anyone could win here. I don't think there's a clear frontrunner. And SAG and BAFTA could easily provide a different winner than the Globes. At least, I hope they do so that it remains unpredictable.
