I thought the trailer showed some promise and the first hour is actually pretty good with a bunch of laughs, but then in the second half it kind of goes nowhere. So it ends up being too long and tries too hard with the drama and romance while it should have just doubled up on the comedy and funny scenarios. And instead of being watchable it becomes a dud, on top of that Efron and Kidman look so hacked up in the face, especially the former, that he feels unbelievable and thus miscast as this big movie star. Efron has some comedic chops, but his looks are a turn off and then the plot of a film about a film star feels copied from other films and doesn't end up working at the end. As a whole it's just not worth the sit through, and a bit of a shame because it does have funny bits.
