Lovely movie that comes together beautifully at the ending (which really hit me emotionally)

Re: Past Lives
Sounds like the Before trilogy, ps they should totally make a 4th film to that. I’m thinking Before Death in another 10 years.

Re: Past Lives
Saw this earlier this year and it really has some of the best performances of the year, especially Greta Lee. It's so simple but packs a big emotional punch.

Re: Past Lives
An extremely well crafted film with a terrific score, strong acting and tons of absolutely gorgeous shots of New York City. Yet I found myself bored for too much of the runtime. And I think she made the wrong decision at the end. Her husband's spirit had clearly been broken by the whole "she loves another dude more than him" thing. That marriage has another year in it at best. Though I guess they are saving the big kiss scene for Past Lives 2?
I'll give this movie a 6.3/10.

Re: Past Lives
Even though I didn't like the husband, I think she made the difficult but correct decision. Hence why it is called Past Lives. She had moved on and that was that.
Good film. Excellent direction from rookie director Song. Greta Lee is a revalation.

Re: Past Lives
Really liked this script with the battle between realism and idealism with both leads being great and nice attention to detail with the subtle ways they react to each other. I think the other man giving a great performance was one of the keys to the movie and I'm sure people come away with if it with different opinions on whether she made the right choice. Personally I think her chemistry with Hae Sung had the It factor and she should have gone for it if he agreed to move there where she could still do the plays.
