I wasn't crazy about this at all, but I can understand if other people enjoy it more. Melanie Laurent is great here and there are some genuinely tense scenes within the claustrophobic location, but I could never get that invested in the story or the characters.

I think I just prefer Aja's horror movies over stuff like this or The 9th Life of Louis Drax which I wasn't a big fan of either and coming off of Crawl which I thought was awesome made this even more dissapointing for me.

Didn't work for me as well. A similar themed Ryan Reynolds' Buried handled this much better. The phone calls here makes really no sense so a lot of those took me away from the story and there aren't enough thrills to keep you glued throughout. The movie also keeps on expanding the world which wasn't really required here. The reveal of being a clone adds nothing to the main conflict. Aja does keep things moving but after Crawl this was an odd choice for him.

Oxygen starts similiarly to many other "trapped in a box" movies, but I was very impressed with the way the story developed. A horror situation is transformed into sci-fi, but never eases up on the peril. There isn't a dull moment in the second half of this movie. Laurent is also brilliant in her role.

A strong B+, very close to the A-.
