Well this definitely had potenital to be something decent, because it starts out intriguing enough, but good god was it a slog to sit through. Anthony Hopkins is in only like two scenes, but atleast you get somekind of emotion from his performance even if one of his scenes goes on a bit too long into rambling territory.

There's some solid talent involved with this flick, but I didn't think any of the actors were given much to do, especially Anson Mount who I've seen give good peformances from in the past, but he's just so cold and brooding here and honestly just a really dull excuse of a lead. David Morse, Richard Brake and Eddie Marsan all felt wasted to me in this and while Abbie Cornish is trying her character wasn't all that interesting either.

It's a small scale and slow moving film, but I liked it. The set-up is standard and the film does not have a distinctive style, but the direction is capable. I don't recall seeing Mount in anything before and I don't really love him in this, but the rest of the cast is filled out nicely. Wish Marsan's role would have been more fleshed out, he's always good in stuff. But I liked that the film was a bit of change of pace, with a small cast, highlighting dialogue and dedicating most of its time to brooding over one job set in a small town. It's not overly engaging, but the voice over narration works well and found it satisfying.
