I never found this to be enjoyable. Wouldn't mind watching it again, though.

Re: Dante's Peak
Superior to Volcano. Inferior to Twister. It is all right. Pierce Brosnan is charismatic and solid in the lead role, and I dig the small-town setting. The grandma's slow-march-through-super-heated-water death is more hilarious than poignant.

The remake of Poseidon may be the worst, at least among the last 25 or 30 years' crop of mainstream, studio-financed ones.

Re: Dante's Peak
I disagree. Poseidon is much better than this turd. Algren I say give it a shot. It has a frenetic energy that works IMO. All the characters outside of Russell and Lucas are completely one note. But it actually does something a lot of disaster films don't do, which is you have literally 2 hours to live. It does feel very much in the moment.

Daylight I like though, these I never need to see again.

Re: Dante's Peak
This was an ok disaster movie with the expected B level acting. Nothing memorable about it but I liked it a little more than Volcano.

Re: Dante's Peak
I was in mood of disaster movie so I watched this again. There are some good scenes throughout but the characters are poorly written. I did like the family angle which helps overall movie.

Re: Dante's Peak
This was somehow even cornier than Volcano, which was corny deliberately. Dante's Peak is also boring. Maybe the special effects carried it back in the 90s, but I struggled to find any redeeming qualities.
1.7 / 10
Also, Pompeii is the best volcano movie.
