A fun, forgetable movie. Some parts are really funny, and I would love to have that power for just a day to see how it is.

This could have just as easily been called What Men Want , because what man wouldn't love to know what women are thinking. I saw this about a month ago, and absolutely loved it.

Mel's great at action of course, but I liked seeing him show a flair for romantic comedy. My second favorite performance isn't from Helen Hunt, but it's from Marisa Tomei in a brief but memorable role. Pretty fun stuff that I rate an A-.

Mel Gibson is a hoot in this one. Great performance. Not very impressed by the rest of the cast, though, to be honest. It's a fun movie all-around, but its problem is that the best gags are all used in the trailers (another example of that is Bruce Almighty). Mostly it's entertaining, predictable and overly enjoyable, but it only made me laugh out loud once, I think (when Mel Gibson imagines that he's lesbian  ). In the end, it was Gibson who elevated the movie above average.

I don't remember this too well but, man, did I hate it. It seemed like such a can't-miss premise. I don't even remember my specific problems with it, but it really rubbed me the wrong way.

Great movie, though not as hugely funny as it could've been.

Mostly harmless fun. I hadn't seen it in a while.

It would be awesome to have that ability in real life.

good fun movie - only didn't like how they handled Marisa Tomei ending scene in this movie - talk about getting discarded.

This once again showed why Mel was one of the best actors in hollywood, he's so good at playing a good successful playboy, and then trying to reverse and be sincere. I agree it could have been better but Gibson is just so charismatic and Tomei is really funny too. And Helen Hunt is gorgeous in this movie.

I want Mel Gibson to act again.

On TV right now.

What do women want?
Based on the huge success of this movie, obviously dumb, trite crap.

While I don't hate the movie, I agree with yosh, with this golden concept they really could've had something more... memorable? And it's not like Mel and Helen aren't good enough. Just lazy writing, maybe.

I also thought the subplot with the suicide girl sucked.

hard not to enjoy, mostly 'cause the concept is so great. Probably shoulda handled it a bit better, though.

It's a solid B from me. I enjoy it, it has that old romcom feel to it, and will age well.

I just rewatched this on tv and great film! I remembered it fondly and it was really nice to watch again, Gibson at his A-game and the fantastical premise is in very good hands with him. I guess the film has a nostalgic factor for me too, but I think regardless there's a quality to the script that makes it a successful rom-com in any time. 2000 was a great film year to experience and I really enjoy the revisits of films from that year.
