Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome - C

Not too good, but Mel Gibson makes it what it is...better than any Chuck Norris film... lol

Not a patch on the Road Warrior but fun slock when all is said and done. Tina Turner is pretty decent and its nice to see a homage to Riddley Walker in the way the Children speak.

Its interesting, and flashier than Road Warrior but its more of a rehash with a story that wasnt suppose to be a Mad Max film, but they through him in in the end. Still its a solid entry and at least a fitting conclusion to the trilogy in a three very different films, stylistically anyway.

Its great at what it tries to do but the finale makes no sense and the town run by pigshit and/or besides water are not interesting. The chase scenes are still great but the whole thing sums up to nothing. Also couldn't understand why aunty left him in the end.

I always remember this being pretty decent, but a big step down in quality from The Road Warrior and even the first Mad Max. Tina Turner was surprisingly fun as the villain too.

I've seen it first some 20 years ago, but couldn't remember much and saw this again recently after seeing the first two films too. It's a noticeable step down from those as Dil mentioned too, reduced to a ragtag of different elements that are not as gripping and creative anymore as the previous films. It's only Gibson who still stands out with his performance and other than him there's not much worth watching this for, it quickly becomes forgettable. Some of its deserty landscapes and score feel like Mad Max too in a good way, but the story of this film feels like a rush job put together.
