It's another good Clint film, but I did have some higher hopes/ expectations for it. The film is crisp, looks good, nice cast, Collette is definitely great. It's just that the story isn't that remarkable and now I think of it maybe even Eastwood's least remarkable, and I feel the film just can't overcome that. It's told in such a way it keeps me interested till the end, but we are pretty much know the truth in this court case before the characters do and there's not enough mystery in seeing how the characters act without that knowledge or upon discovering things. As a court case it's kind of basic and that turns this effort from Clint just pretty by the numbers like. I haven't seen all of his film, but of his recent works this is one of his lesser ones for sure. Still good, just not exciting.
