Re: Conclave
Great movie for election season. Very compelling. I wish I hadn't known there was a huge twist before hand. I kept thinking it was gonna be something crazy and it ......really wasn't? Feels like they just threw it in to gain points with the academy. So while I wish the general mystery had a more compelling solution, this was still a good watch that breezed by. 8/10

Re: Conclave
Having thought it over, I think the movie needed one more twist/turn: It should have been revealed that the pope organized all of this as he was dying to ensure that Benitez won. Trembleys whole "I was instructed by his Holiness!" excuse pointed towards this, but then they just kinda dropped it, Perhaps out of a lack of confidence that the audience would be able to handle multiple twists at once? It would have also resolved Lawrence's crisis of faith, which is also kind of left hanging.

Re: Conclave
It's well performed but I kind of hated this. Besides being incredibly dull and paint-by-numbers, the final twist at the end is ridiculous and didn't work for me at all. This movie is the kind of movie Harvey Weinstein would have been pushing hard on us all awards season 15 years ago. C-

Re: Conclave
Interesting enough with good performance from Fiennes and Tucci but the twist at the end gives little payoff, and it’s a bit slow. Direction is also meh, given how gorgeous the locations are.
