Had Transformers flopped I bet Spiderverse's drop would be in the 40s. I'm pretty surprised Transformers was able to do $60m.

TLM isn't that far behind Aladdin at the same point in its run so if it drops fine next weekend $300m should happen.

I'm so happy to see Past Lives continue to do well. Looks fantastic. I expect some big Oscar nominations.

It's already easily pacing ahead of TAR and Banshees of Inisherin from last year, which is pretty promising. My only concern is that it's scheduled to go wide the same weekend Asteroid City goes wide (June 23), so hopefully they don't cut into each other too much. If it can get above $10M that would be a pretty big win for the film.

Nice to see 6 of the top 7 for the weekend will likely be $150M+ movies. The post Covid box office has returned and if Elemental somehow pulls a surprise by some miracle will really benefit the box office recovery too. Not getting my hopes up.

Transformers hurt but I feel like -54% for Spiderverse is a bit underwhelming here

Monday #'s

Transformers - TBD
Spider-Man $6,800,000 -48% $232,332,074
The Little Mermaid $3,147,182 -31% $232,317,534
The Boogeyman $1,011,813 -25% $25,985,322
Guardians of the Galaxy $920,739 -26% $336,521,512
Fast X $559,000 -45% $138.76M

Really great dailies from TLM, GOGT and especially The Boogeyman! 25% drop! If they had not opened it against Spider-verse it could have gotten a bigger OW for sure. Could very well get to $40M off of a $12.4M OW.

Not bad for Spider-verse. Could be at $260M going into its 3rd weekend. The dailies next week are going to be fun to see with so many bigger grosses.

Go TLM.

I do think Flash and Elemental's openings may be muted but have good summer weekdays possibly? We'll see.

For comparison:

Aladdin: $3,193,181 -32.1% $235,760,075
TLM: $3,147,182 -31% $232,317,534

They are following each other to a tee at this point!

Tuesday #'s:

Spider-Man $8,500,000 -43% $240,839,759
Transformers $7,100,566 $73,308,024
The Little Mermaid $4,066,260 -33% $236,383,794
The Boogeyman $1,212,053 -26% $27,197,375
Guardians of the Galaxy $1,147,524 -26% $337,669,036
Fast X $732,315 -45% $139,493,105
The Super Mario Bros. Movie $406,700 -26% $570,961,070

Not too far from passing Garfield's Spider-man movies. Crazy that this franchise will have produced likely 3 $350M+ movies in 4 years with SM-Far From Home (2019), SM-Homecoming (2021) and SM-Spiderverse (2023).

Transformers isn't doing so bad. Feel like with these dailies it's looking good for $150M even if it falls off a cliff this weekend.

TLM's daily holds are encouraging. Looking for a respectable domestic tally.

Guardians is looking like it's going to pull a 3X multiplier which is great for a 3rd film in the series. It won't be that far off from the second movie if it keeps holding well.

Fast X looks like it could be the first Fast movie since Drift to not make the top 15 for the year. It's currently at #8 but looks like it will miss Creed. Transformers and the Flash will pass it to rank at #10. Highly likely we'll see 5 more movies get to $150M+ over the next 6 months.

Mario is about $571M. It's Tuesday is about 2/3 of its Friday gross so benefiting from those summer weekdays. Looking like $575M-580M final so looking good still to win the year.

Twelve days over $1 million for The Boogeyman. I'm impressed. I had thought it would drop away in its second week.
