Re: Barbie+Oppenheimer vs Flash+Elemental
It's truly crazy Flash had a worse multiplier than Quantumania, and in summer no less. It's just a combination of so many factors that led to its performance (DC announcing reboot kinda and just not in a safe space, Ezra, apathy, etc)

Re: Barbie+Oppenheimer vs Flash+Elemental
Elemental actually managed to save face and isn't a complete disaster + indicates Pixar is still a viable brand if they just manage to keep costs down a bit.
Flash is a straight up catastrophe and one of the worst bombs ever especially considering it had Batman in it. A multi-franchise/career killer too (final nail in the coffin for old version of DC, kills any chance at a future solo Flash movie or spin offs in the next decade or longer, kills any chance of Keaton Batman appearing again, kills Ezra Miller's film career for good).

Re: Barbie+Oppenheimer vs Flash+Elemental
The Flash is already the 16th highest grossing movie of the year (will be 17th when Oppenheimer passes) and it's only late July. Interestingly, I looked at where its 107 million would rank on the 2022 list, and it would've also been 16th. However, in 2019 it would've been 29th. 2022 was such a stratified year in terms of lack of huge blockbusters but lack of 100 and 200 million films.

Re: Barbie+Oppenheimer vs Flash+Elemental
How big was Barbenheimer?
July 2023 Gross: $1,326,874,622! Biggest July since 2016!
Here are the biggest months of all time:
1 July, 2011 $1,394,775,988 192 2 July, 2016 $1,370,974,883 181 3 July, 2013 $1,370,146,592 178 4 July, 2023 $1,326,874,622 83
1 day left! I approximated Monday grosses based on the 3day tally drop this weekend vs last weekend (-32.2%). Last Monday made $48,029,634 so let's approximate $32.55M Monday.
That would finish the month with $1,359.4 B, just 2.5% below the biggest month ever. If we had stronger June holdovers almost certainly could have been the biggest month of all time!
Iconic combo. Their "holdover" weekend is at $208,577,932. That would be #2 biggest weekend gross of the year and largest other than Barbenheimer OW since Jul 8-10, 2022 when Thor led the weekend with $237,265,821 total grosses.
