Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
15.3m. So only a 10.2m true Friday.
Will definitely miss 40m with that. But should hit 35m. Not terrible but not great.

I hope it can survive Mario.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
Isn’t true Friday 9.7? I thought preview was 5.6 million. Good start. Never thought D&D would easily outgross Shazam

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
Joan wick down 73%, should do better over the weekend, but unless is stabilizes it might struggle to the third film’s total

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
A good opening for D&D considering it looked like it had catastrophic potential at one point, but interested to see how it drops

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
35-40M is solid but not enough to launch a new franchise. Box office poison and charisma vacuum Justice Smith strikes again! Another case of failing upwards in Hollywood.

Have you seen the film, Smith is actually very good in it imo.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
Granted that Justice Smith isn't audience catnip, but Chris Pine also isn't firing on all cylinders at the box office.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
38.5 official estimate. So without previews it had a 32.9 opening off a 9.7 OD. Should have a nice run to over 100m, even if it’s budget is too high for that to be a blowout success

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
Bad buzz and reviews and this would've done worse so ok opening. Dunno if it's enough to make a sequel but they'll probably take the gamble.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
The superhero films disappointing the first quarter of 23 has helped the string of success for the other movies. Likewise I wonder if ones like the Marvels and Aquaman 2 disappoint that it means something else has to breakout in the winter.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
Honor Among Thieves lands right in the zone of not being a flop but not being a breakout hit either. $100M is not guaranteed though good word of mouth should push it over. That should be enough for amazon to roll the dice on a sequel.
Big fall from Wick. That's to be expected after losing your imax screens. And it is competing against Wrestlemania this weekend. Hopefully will recover and be able to get $200M. The movie is so good.
His Only Son grossed $5M? These cheap bible movies are very consistent. And the movies barely need any marketing since their target audience will see anything they think will net them some heaven points.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons Weekend
I don't think it will reach $200 million, but it doesn't need to. It would be nice, but all it needs to beat is the $171 million of Parabellum. Also, it's weird how only the third one has a funky sub-title, lol.
