Better than 45% drops from here on out gets #AvatarTheWayOfWater past the pre-2023 re-release #Titanic gross. Much depends on how Titanic performs in 2023. #AvatarTheWayOfTheWater will likely settle nicely in the #9 spot. Thoughts?

A lot of people will go to see remastered Titanic because they misunderstand that it is a sequel, so I think it'll make a lot of money, $30M domestic, $100M worldwide. But I still think the Way of Water will surpass that. |

Seeing Force Awakens at #1 with such a massive lead really makes the rest of Disney Star Wars look even more pathetic. They really bungled the franchise with the most potential ever. |

TFA already with a nice run at 7 years and seems to be safe for a while having held off Avatar 2 and some of Marvel's best shots. I think something else beats it in next 3-4 years and then the Phase 8 Avengers movie with all the OGs including RDJ and Evans (and babyface Thanos?) beats that for #1. |

I really like most of the Last Jedi but offing both Han and Luke were big mistakes. At least one of them could've died in 9. Trying to pivot to the new characters failed as 9 was so shit. |

I feel like SW will still be topped within 2 years not 3-4, mostly due to the ridiculous level of ticket inflation in the last 2 years. Spidy made $814M in the middle of omicron! Almost certainly would have made more imo if it opened 6 months later and think it would have at least matched Endgame. TGM made $719M last year. Avatar 2 will do $675M. BP1 made $700M 4 years ago. Endgame made $858M 4 years ago. Not sure what will do it yet but the ability to be the first $1B+ movie domestically doesn't feel so far off. |

I cannot see anything topping it for a while. Nothing in the foreseeable future. The slate has nothing even remotely close to the level of hype that TFA had. |

The domestic battle is settled but the worldwide battle is not over, not when China get Titanic re-re-release, and the first day number is out, $755k, not too bad considering that Monday is its first day. It needs at least $60M to dethrone the Way of Water worldwide. China's Titanic re-release in 2012 got $145M. |
