Trailer shows they are moving the action to NYC, a cool choice and topical considering the subway crime problem the city is facing right now. I see it performing about on par with the last film though, it can only break out so much it seems |

This will break out. After so many films - I don't think Nev's loss will impact all that much and the gain in viewers should offset the loss. I love the NY setting. What are they calling this? Scream (2023)?? |

I'm excited to see a New York set Scream movie. They definitely need Jenna front and center in the advertising. She's become very popular since [b] Wednesday. I'm not really sure how much it will do. On one hand Omicron could have prevented the last from doing a bit more but it was also helped immensely by having no competition. This one has a lot more competition. I still think it should at least bring in around what the last did. |

It seems this is getting a last minute 3D release. Seems very unnecessary. Maybe if it had been shot for a 3D release it could have been cool. Top Gun: Maverick should be getting a 3D re-release.

Competition will hurt its legs but it should get to the $100m neighbourhood. Jenna should be front and centre - agreed. |

I think $40-45m is doable. It has alot going for it. To me this is Scream 2 all over again, so a big opening is incoming. Jenna/NYC location/new generation of viewers are all positives. The only negative is the loss of Nev but i dont think it will be too much of a hit (perhaps a couple of mil). Trivia : Scream 2 was estimated at $39m but dropped to $33m with actuals. Perhaps one of the biggest % drops from estimates to actuals ever (among wide releases). |

I used to say this but I don't know. Some conversions look really good. Like Titanic for example. It pretty much looks like it was shot in the format. I mean it's not Avatar obviously but after seeing it in 3D twice since it first released in the format I'd say I would rather watch it in 3D than 2D. |

I am a big Nev fan but even I can admit this one is going to massively surpass expectations. I would not be shocked by a $60M OW here if people really show up. |

That being said, seems like this one has even more hype. Ortega has become a megastar and the New York setting is a fun twist for the series. $40M+ opening seems likely. |
