I do believe it will perform much better with mainstream audiences. But it's not a great start. I miss when these platform releases opened to like $100,000 averages pre-pandemic. Hope to get back to that. |

I'm looking at my Thanksgiving results and just...  Should it really take the demise of the Thanksgiving box office for me to have my best week? Pretty sure Avatar will probably throw me back to last by the end but at least I have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Why did we include Spoiler Alert? Probably won't even get a wide release. Mike lowballed Violent Night so I gained a bit of ground on him. Not that it really matters since we have a huge difference in our Way of Water predictions. |

Spoiler Alert is going to be in 600 or so theaters this weekend. I have seen a ton of ads on TV for it. Maybe it can get some adults that love Sally Field. Also it does take place around the holidays so it has that going for it. All of that being said it seems like an obvious flop. |

I saw one ad for Spoiler Alert in my local news program. I guess it coincided with the local news interviewing one of the stars of the movie. Otherwise I didn't see any advertising on broadcast networks. On the other hand, I never saw an ad for Bones and All on the broadcast networks. On its first weekend of wide release, Bones and All grossed $2.26 million in 2727 theaters. If Spoiler Alert is in only 600 theaters, it could only gross $600,000 this weekend. It looks like Shack, Magic Mike, and Corpse should be very happy this weekend with their Spoiler Alert predictions. |
