Lyle will be second with a small drop. Halloween Ends will do $50 million.

I'm not feeling Halloween at all. Halloween Kills, at least to me, had a LOT more hype surrounding it and still dropped nearly 35%. Yeah, the release date may have hurt it, but still.

I'll be impressed if Halloween Ends cracks $40 million. (Sort of want to predict sub-$35 million.)

Bros should lose at least half its theatres this weekend. It's doing so poorly. On Indigenous People's Day, there were only two movies that dropped week-on-week in the top ten; one was Don't Worry Darling with 8.9%, the other was Bros with a whopping 27%. There were others outside the top ten, but bar Bullet Train all are flops you don't want to be associated with (Beast, See How They Run, Running the Bases). It's also been out for 12 days already and still not reached the miniscule milestone of $10 million. For a wide release this is abysmal. The only movies making less per theatre in the top 12 are Super-Pets and Rise of Gru, and they've been out for 75 and 102 days.

Expectations are at $50 million with a possible $60 million for Halloween Ends. Nice!

I just think people will show up because it's IP horror and it's the finale. People want to see how it all ends. Peacock isn't even that popular, so shouldn't affect it too much.

Projections for Kills last year low balled it and it opened to almost 50m. Even if they are high balling it, seems a sub 40m opening is unlikely

Last year's number was affected by Covid. So even if this one has less buzz than Halloween Kills it could still make more.

It does have IMAX and premium screens to boost the gross. So that's one thing in its favor. The bad WOM from Thursday night and bad reviews in general might convince some to stay home and watch it there.

As long as it stays above 60% the reviews won't hurt it, which it currently is after only five reviews.

As for Peacock, it seems I was wrong before when I said it wasn't popular. It has 15 million paid subscribers. That seems quite a lot more than I expected. But it's anyone's guess as to how much of the Halloween Ends audience is a subscriber, so we still don't really know what the affect might be.

But if Smile is anything to go by, people want to go out and experience a scare or two, so I feel a big blockbuster horror opening in cinemas isn't going to be hurt too much by a simultaneous streaming release.

Sales did pick up a lot here and it looks to be doing respectable most places. So it should do pretty well tonight.

This was never going to stay fresh :P. It's too divisive. Currently reviews are better than Kills though. It's at 51% right now. If it stays above 45% that's better than it could have been. Letterboxd reviews are pretty abysmal. It's the hardcore fans that will be most pissed off by it.

It's supposedly the most character drama of the three and a 180 compared to Kills. Unclear if people will have Myers kills blue balls and give it bad WOM but it's not like it was expected to have good legs either way.

I think people will be most pissed that

Spoiler: show
it's a Myers copycat doing most of the killing

if what I've heard is true and it certainly seems to be. Personally I'm open to something different and could see myself loving it. I actually liked Rob Zombie's Halloween II for this very reason. This definitely seems like the RZ Halloween II of the DGG trilogy.

Are theatres really in SO MUCH need of product that they will keep Bros on so many screens? It lost a lot (the most of any movie this week) but still remains in 2,200. Crazy. Gonna be a lot of empty auditoriums. Gonna be a lot of empty auditoriums for Amsterdam, too. I don't know, maybe they only have 1-2 showtimes per week at a lot of locations. It would make sense. Anyway, Minions: The Rise of Gru is back in 175 more theatres. Not that it needed them to out-gross Despicable Me 2, but now it definitely will.

Halloween Ends is going to have absolutely awful word of mouth. This might be one of the most front loaded movies ever.

Audience score on RT is currently 58%. That will definitely change but who knows if it goes up or down. My friend just saw it and said it was laughably bad. One of the worst of the entire series if not THE worst.

I dont get how they can get it so wrong after the 2018 version? Insane.

I liked it a bit more than Kills. This reboot trilogy is still one of the more disappointing things in modern cinema. I really thought Green and McBride would pull it off and they just didn't. But they made a bunch of money so I'm sure the studio is happy with their investment.

I don't know why anyone thought those two were a good choice for a Halloween reboot to begin with. And they certainly shouldn't have been invited back to continue the story after the first. I "liked" it but there were too many missteps to give them the reigns again.

I'm still very curious about Ends though. Hoping I'm one of the people it works for.

Halloween Ends previews were around 5 Million last night. Kills did 4.9 Million. I want to say those started a bit later. Ends was at 5:00.

Man you're so anti-Halloween Ends :funny:

Ends was $5.4m (5pm), and Kills was $4.85m (7pm).

Plus, this year Peacock has more subscribers potentially taking away from ticket sales for it. ;)

I don't know how any of what I said is anti Halloween Ends :P. Just stating the facts. It did great last night. Weekend should be great as well.
