Very disappointed this is so far out. Originally this was supposed to come right after the Marvels I thought. Will hopefully be the first project to get the Fantastic Four right, and Doom will be huge in the impending Secret Wars movies.

Thinking it could do Captain Marvel numbers since its leading directly into a big Avengers film and will have even more hype as a character fans have wanted to see done right for 20 years.

Personally, I love the Chris Evans movies. But I also think this will be big. The biggest out of all the Phase 5 and 6 movies (not including Avengers). Going with $350 million.

We have our Mr. Fantastic and his name is Pedro Pascal. Surprising choice. I guess he's trying to challenge Chris Pratt for most successful franchises.

I am finding it hard to believe this will be that big. Especially with MCU in a downward spiral. I am expecting all forthcoming MCU movies to be mini Avengers with tons of cameos to build up the hype. Still I feel they have lost the Gen Z and I am not convinced this movie will reverse that trend.

I think the MCU has lost a good chunk of all key gens. That said - if the likes of the DP/X Men/FF4 film are good quality - they should sustain strong box office. Anything else outside mega team ups or Spidey will probably struggle. Being a hit is no longer guaranteed.

In 2022 i thought this can do Captain Marvel numbers. Now, i'd probably say $300m would be great for it.

Pedro is good casting. Out of left field for sure.

Very random but Pedro is very popular with younger demos too and Mandolorian really is the only sign of life for the SW universe for the next 5 years TBH. Interesting that this will be his post Gladiator 2 role. I feel like if Gladiator 2 is really big, it will certainly help Pedro lead the Fantastic Four cast with momentum.

I like Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman if that turns out to be true. Bardem's voice would be fine for Galactus too. Mads Mikkelson as Doom would be meh though. Feels very been there, done that.

Would be really sad if this ends up not doing big numbers lol just when we thought the MCU was unstoppable.

Cast got announced. Honestly besides Pedro not that exciting lol. Joseph Quinn seems like an odd choice but I guess we'll see.

This is really gonna be interesting to see how this does.

vanessa kirby is perfect

The quality is going to have to be perfect here. I do think there's an opening because the FF movies have been just OK or outright horrendous that the bar is so low already. Audiences won't be too forgiving if its boring, bad quality.

Casting 3 tv actors and Kirby seems a little light on proven namepower, but it'll depend on the quality. The whitest F4 cast ever, international audiences being racist maybe has killed the forced diversity casting era.

Ding ding. They ostensibly still care about ~diversity~ so they cast a Latino in the lead role (no racism I'm Latino too lol), but a pretty white Latino and a cool one that doesn't strike as a diversity casting choice.

Pascal is well known but he is not a draw at box office for sure. Weird they are going for 2 weeks after Supes movie. Even though DC is in shambles, if Gunn makes a well reviewed movie with Supes and many other supporting characters(including a Lantern), I dont see how F4 is going to stand out. If MCU had released this few years ago it would have been different. Or had we seen them in an Avengers movie or something.

I feel this will have a middling run.

The bigger issue in standing out isn't SuperMan IMO its that MCU is going from 1 release in 2024 (DP3) to 4 next year.

They need to cull that but have another 4 coming in 2026 too. 2025 with Blade, CA, FF and Thunderbolts is too much. Diluting the brand and little event factor.

Having Cap 4 in February, Thunderbolts in May and this in July sounds like an overkill.

This honestly is the 2024 superhero project that excites me most.

2M+ views in 4 hours makes me think others are in the same boat. The theme song is everything.
