Trailer just released. Both of Peele's films grossed over $170m+ with low budgets. This looks like it may be more expensive but I doubt it has an insane price tag. This has potential to be big though. |

Giving off big Signs vibes. Wouldn't be surprised from a similar type run. July 22 is also a perfect date for this. Signs, Sixth Sense, What Lies Beneath, etc. Could be a watercooler movie with a leggy runs into August |

I am very intrigued by it and it should do well but less than his first two films I'm sure. Us was a big step down from Get Out. Coming off of Get Out it was understandable his follow-up would explode right out the gate. But a lot of people might not care as much after that film. Will still open well though and could be leggy if he delivers this time. |

Excel wrote: doesn't M Night Shymalalalalalalalalalalalalalan's SIGNS exists? Peele is pretty much following the M. Night formula Sixth Sense = Get Out, very original horror film that captures the zeitgeist Unbreakable = Us, successful but less well-received follow up that has a big star in the main role Signs = Nope, using his unique style to tackle an alien invasion plot This means his 'The Village' is coming next followed by a decade long spiral into laughing stock territory followed by a questionable comeback |

After seeing the trailer a couple times on the big screen I'm feeling this is gonna be big. $50m+ opening. |

Yeah, I've used Us as a bit of an Unbreakable analogy (though the the box office comparison was way way off), where it was a bit more polarizing but by the same token a lot of fans do think it's more technically brilliant Anyways, I think Peele's...apeele is still there (Though I think his Twilight Zone probably hurt more than Us), but Candyman might indicate he does have a core fanbase attracted to his name. |

Given how empty the market will be and how tentpoles are doing, if this is high quality, I could see this have a Signs/Sixth Sense type run into Labor Day and challenge $300M. All the ingredients seem to be there like Minions for its target demographics and ALOT of people are waiting for this one. |

If this is good it can be leggy, all it has is Bullet Train in terms of big budget tentpoles until the fall. |

I see a solid $57 million opening and a $180 million finish. |

for some weird reason they started PS for this really early and it has barely sold anything. Let us see where things are close to release. For now no signs of this being a mega breakout. |

It's early. Great reviews can certainly help. |

compared to Us and Get Out, this feels muted. I genuinely have no pulse on general movie-goer appetite or interest though (see: expecting Lightyear to do great and Top Gun to bomb ) |

It should be a hit by being a bit of an event film (due to Peel) with a good release date so I'd expect a total in the $150-200m range. Higher if its loved. |

It doesn't seem like this movie is as much of a racial commentary as the last two. |

Despite not putting up the same numbers as Get Out and Us, I feel its probably $125 million finish is pretty good for it. Due to the empty marketplace, it developed decent legs from its fourth weekend. After it opened I thought it would barely make $100 million. |
