Jurassic World: Dominion has made $100 million in China on its 13th day in release with a $2.28 million Wednesday. It's the first Hollywood film of 2022 to do so and, I believe, the first Hollywood movie to reach the mark since F9: The Fast Saga over a year ago last May.

TGM will make 1.2B+. Korea WOM is out of the world as I expected and so expect a long run over there.

JWD wont be making 1B for sure. Another movie which will finish in 900s along with Dr Strange 2.

Thor 4 is also looking tough. Its hype is well below DS2(PS is about 65% in AMC and 50% in Cinemark) and $ is so strong making 600m without China/Russia is improbable for MCU flick unless it has NWH level of hype which wont happen until next Avengers movie.

BP2 I think will drop quite a bit domestic from last movie. That had a unique hook but cannot be replicated again. Plus the movie losing its lead character and making similar gross looks very unlikely. It also wont make more than 500m OS(probably less if $ remains strong). But it still has slightly better chance than Thor 4 for sure.

Avatar is lock for 1b WW.

Yeah, the dollar needs to chill. It's the strongest it's been since late 2002 on the index. Versus a year ago, approximately: $600m OS is a little over $500m now, $700m is a bit shy of $600m, $800m is around $675m, etc.

If it wasn't for China DS would be well over a billion by now. Eek.

Top Gun's performance is just insane.

I'm also worrying about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Not just because it's lost the star of the show, but also the first movie came out with that perfect storm of heightened BLM support with the "first black superhero movie" narrative. I think it will most likely drop as well, though there will still be intrigue to see how they deal with the loss of Boseman, but I just don't see it being a record breaker.

The Suicide Squad could have gotten $300M DOM if it opened this summer. It’s so good.

This is the happiest I've been for a $1b grosser in a long time. So well deserved.

Great call Rev. Beginning of the year I would have predicted under $500 million for TGM :-)

Now I think JWD has more than reasonable chance with China holding up much better than what I thought previously based on Covid situation plus its initial ratings at Maoyan. But competition is non existent and its doing well. Looking to add at least $50 million more than what I thought on its opening day. If Japan does $60 million then 1B will happen with reasonably good late legs domestic which is not crazy considering there is hardly anything big opening post Thor 4 and summer weekdays will help as well.

Its run will probably be cut short from 1st July when all the Communist Propaganda movies are re-released. Dominion will lose a ton of showtimes. So it's only got a few days left to make some money, is my feeling, but we'll see what happens. And it's already made over $115 million, so it's done well.

So this didn't happen. The Chinese populace reliably don't care about anything older than three months, lol. Dominion is now up to $133.6 million as of EOD Monday.

Only $2,327,115 left until Jurassic World: Dominion joins a lonely Maverick in the club.

Colombia came in big. They rival China (especially now that they stopped releasing films, more or less). In fact, they may be larger the U.S. now, too. Mass underreporting there based on Mojo's new numbers.

Orphan: First Kill debuted at #1 to $38.8 million there this past weekend.

Top Grossing Films in Colombia this year:

$1.251 billion - Spider-Man: No Way Home (2022 re-release) *New record high gross for a single market*
$825.7 million - Minions 2
$821.9 million - Thor 4
$386.5 million - Sonic 2
$334.7 million - Top Gun 2
$244.0 million - DC Super Pets
$195.2 million - Sing 2
$181.1 million - Bullet Train
$172.5 million - Dragon Ball Super
$103.8 million - The Bad Guys
