They will still be plagued with covid outbreaks, but not bad enough to close theaters most likely.

From now on though, replacements will be penalty free until the theatrical marketplace settles fully, since production is still and will be behind schedule at the major studios for a while

This is my weekend to make some money. My three films in release are in a combined 10,169 theatres. Smile is doing amazingly well staying above $2m on Wednesday, and not just but WELL above it. Hopefully its Thursday also stays above it. It looks promising for its weekend. No new kids movies for weeks and weeks will hopefully translate to a high Lyle opening. And Barbarian is still doing commendable numbers, albeit low now as it's been out for a while.

I also still have two Idris movies in release but the less said about those, the better. :grrr:

Next week adds ANOTHER of my picks into the mix, and it's a biggie! So that should be an even larger weekend. :shades:

I'm feeling positive with my chances of securing that second place spot now.

I'll take Armageddon Time if Flava'd is ok with that.

It's Flava'd and Corpse that need to pick a replacement. I sent the PM to you to keep you in the loop (as you're running this game).

Or are you picking for Corpse now?

lol, Smile is already my fourth highest grosser. It will definitely beat Morbius and maybe even beat The Lost City. It could end up being my third highest behind Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Who'd that thought!

Still can't believe you got Smile lol. I would have taken it with the first pick of redraft but assumed it was part of the original list.

Pure luck. I redrafted Barbarian and See How They Run before it - I thought those would do better.

It's a nice coincidence, though, how Smile was redrafted as my second pick, considering what number it will end up it looks like a shrewd like-for-like pick, lol

Okay, last weekend was a test run. ;) THIS weekend is the one where I will make some real money!

The top three films are mine, mua ha ha. My picks are in a combined 14,193 theatres (+4,000 on last weekend). I reckon I could rack up a weekend tally of $70 million. Smile has been doing well all week, averaging $2 million a day. Halloween Ends looks good for $50 million. And Lyle should have a nice bump for the weekend. This is my weekend, baby!

Rev's draft is just insane. He's going to finish closer to $2 billion than $1.5bn. Like, every damn pick is doing gangbusters, lol

Post subject:  Re: 2022 Box Office Draft Group 1

Halloween Ends' disappointment isn't a big deal for my draft. It has basically swapped perceived grosses with Smile. If I look at it like that, they've actually improved, lol. I thought Smile could do $35 million, and Ends will do at least $75m. I thought Ends would do $100-110m, and Smile will do about that, I guess. So nothing really lost, but a bit gained.

But second place is now out of the window for me. Now I only have my sights set on a bronze medal. :3rd:

A Man Called Otto is now opening limited at Christmas instead of wide on the 14th. Opens wide in January.

In terms of box office, I feel that takes the shine off it. It could've opened wide at Christmas and legged out a nice gross. Fat chance of that happening in January.

I would really like to get to $700 million before Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is unleashed, and I reckon I might be able to. I just need another $19,854,360 based on estimates. Smile should make another $10 million before 11th November or maybe more, and the combination of Lyle, Ends, Barbarian, and See How They Run should make up the rest. Then I'll just have Wakanda making bank, taking me to the billion mark and beyond. It's still up in the air whether it can take me to second place, but third place is guaranteed. It all depends if Wakanda does $400m-ish or $550m-ish.

So here we are then on the eve of my first round pick, and second place is still very much possible but maybe not probable. Let's say it maxes it out with $550 million, that would put my tally at $1.25 billion. publicenemy#1 is at $1.07 billion with four movies to come out, and his Christmas triage are potentially big earners. I would only have Violent Night left to bolster my total, and I don't see that doing more than $40 million (though fingers crossed for a leggy alternative X-mas hit).

Courtesy of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, I am now in third place and above Jack Sparrow. And also, Smile is now above Bullet Train.

My sights are now set on publicenemy#1  But even if I do catch him, it likely won't be for long unless Violent Night breaks out next month.

In other news, REV FINALLY HAS A FLOP!  She Said looks to be DOA.

And unless She Said or The Fabelmans go on some legendary runs, Lyle has won Round 10.

I'm taking all the victories I can get. ;)
