Ron's a bomb. Too bad, looks like reviews are mostly favorable.

Ron had no chance to succeed with this much depth in the market and wrong time to release animated movie.

$5.1m for Dune. Good job Keyser and BOT peeps yet again lol
1.5m was IMAX screenings, almost 30% of gross.

For 3-day? Mmm if it has the same preview to weekend multiplier as TSS it'll get $32.5m, a little bit higher than GvK.

GVK 3 day is locked. GVK 5-day wont happen. I am thinking 40m OW at this point. Let us see how the friday goes. Thinking low teens true friday at this point.

I think over $40m is a great result all things considered.

I somehow thought GvK did $40m+

That's $1.6M higher than Blade Runner 2049.

Already a win tbh and I think the sequel is now secured. At the very least this is not a Golden Compass disaster with a $25m OW.

You do know Dune is available to watch at home with HBO Max? Hell you can even get the first free month and then cancel so it's technically available for free

The sequel was secured after those OS numbers. These numbers wouldn't convince the executives otherwise.

Walkups worse than Bond but average ticket price higher. I am seeing true friday tad above 13m and overall including previews 18.3m or so.

Why is average ticket price higher for Dune? I thought most formats have standard ticket price in States.

Higher ratio of tickets sold are IMAX/PLF. They are almost sold out while 2d shows are mostly empty. That helped its numbers yesterday as well. I am expecting saturday to increase about 10% and sunday should hold ok due to Imax/PLF(around 35% drop).

18m sounds pretty damn good to me.

Even if it follows Black Widow's horrible weekend trend then

18
11.5 (-11% true Friday)
8.5 (-25%)

=38, although Sunday will drop more. Don't see it going below $36m with a 18m Friday.

Presales for tomorrow are slightly up from friday presales and daytime Imax/PLF will be way stronger than today. Should increase around 10%.

Hmmm so if those #s sticks and it does around 14m Saturday and drops 30%+ on Sunday $40m+ is looking good. If that happens I expect Part 2 announcement sometime soon.

It has a budget of $165m... Will it even break even?

WB aren't trying to break even theatrically.

Deadline have it at very low 30s OW. China only $20M OW, very disappointing there.

We're not out of the woods yet. *prayer circle*
