August 13-15 predictions
I'm glad I don't have to see another Free Guy trailer again
I'm gonna go with $21m for Free Guy. Which in of itself sounds like a lot to me but apparently it's tracking well over at BOT. Would be embarassing if it outopens TSS, and more of an argument for theatrical windows.
Don't Breathe 2 and Respect... mmm. I'm gonns guess one of these does above 10m while the other does high single digits.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
Free Guy will do well, it's that kind of mindless fun that will attract people plus it's not available to stream.
Don't Breathe 2 is such a non-event. It should have done well if it was a continuation of the first but it looks like they are dumping this one.
Respect will probably struggle as it's reviews are good-not-great.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
TSS needs a 61% drop to stay above $10m. I'm gonna go with 64% drop, $9.4m weekend. Yuck.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
I think Free Guy will beat Suicide Squad. Starpower seems to be the key to success this summer. If it had Emily Blunt it’d break out huge.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
Indeed! But Free Guy has some cameos which can bring enough starpower (or spoiler start intergalactic wars). Free You also has been marketing for 2 years and I'm this case it helps.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
free guys previews looks like 2m. But it will be lot more frontloaded than Jungle Cruise. So I am thinking mid teens OW.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
The critics say Free Guy (84% on Rotten Tomatoes) is better than Snake Eyes (38% fresh). So Free Guy should easily do better than Snake Eyes $13.4 million opening weekend. I can't believe the low ball estimate of $13 million. I'm predicting Free Guy will earn more than The Hitman's Bodyguard ($21.4 million) with $24 million for its first weekend.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
Ok. it did much better with walkups than what I expected yesterday. Its final day sales were stronger than Jungle Cruise and finished around 95% at AMC. So I am thinking 2.5m previews and low 20's OW.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
Just below Jungle Cruise at $32m for Free Guy but I am sure I already late in my prediction(s) but having seen the movie I think the WoM will be great or on par with JC with the added advantage of not being available on streaming site(s).

Re: August 13-15 predictions
An opening in the 20s is really quite solid for Free Guy. In normal times I doubt it would do much more.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
It was supposed to release in December before pandemic so even if it didn't open big it could have legged out to $100m in normal times.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
its previews did not go as I high as I saw. But its doing well with walkups. My OW prediction could still end up lower than actual.

Re: August 13-15 predictions
Hopefully it does enough to appease some studio execs so the upcoming fall slate doesn't end up being delayed/moved to streaming.
